GOLF DUQUESA
FOR THE BEST GOLF ON THE COSTA DEL SOL

LA DUQUESA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones and established in 1985, La Duquesa winds round El Hacho beacon hill with magnificent views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and to Africa. The demanding course requires accurate driving and concentration. The 8th par 3 is only 125m long but has a drop of 30m!
The course has good practice facilities and lessons for all standards of players can be arranged. There is also a Gym, Snooker, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Tennis and Squash courts that can all be used for a small charge.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6142m

VALDERRAMA
Home to the 1997 Ryder Cup and host in November '99 to the World Golf Championships, Valderrama is rated as Europe's No 1 course, and is one of it's toughest challenges. Immaculate fairways, notoriously difficult par 5s, super fast greens, everything about this course is stunning. Booking is difficult as tee times are very limited.
18 Holes - Par 73 - 6234m

SAN ROQUE
A Dave Thomas designed course and always kept in immaculate condition, San Roque has been the venue for a number of European Championships. The front nine meander through woodland with 100 year old cork trees, whilst water presents the main hazard on the return leg, notably on the 12th and 18th. Quality golf on a superb course.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6440m

SOTOGRANDE
Often voted amongst the top 10 courses in Europe. Sotogrande opened in 1964. It's 18 manicured holes, designed by Robert Trent Jones, have established trees of oak, pine, eucalyptus and palm. Water also plays an important part, affecting play on the majority of the back nine.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6298m

ALCAIDESA
Designed by Peter Alliss and 15Km from Gibraltar, Alcaidesa is a linkks course with magnificent views of Gibraltar and the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. Gorse, heather, sand dunes, ponds and deep bunkers make Alcidesa very reminiscent of some Scottish courses - only warmer!
18 Holes - Par 72 - 5671m

ESTEPONA
Estepona Golf is set inland and on a hilly terrain. Although the course has wide fairways, it is still a good test for all levels of golfers.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 5600m

EL PARAISO
Designed by Gary Player, El Paraiso opened in 1974 and is one of the oldest and most popular courses on the Cosata Del Sol. It's 18 holes offer lush fairways, flanked by palm trees, set in a floral parkland of oleander, jacaranda and mimosa. Although a fairly undemanding course the many water hazards will test accuracy on some of the holes.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6116m

MONTE MAYOR
A stunning golf course spectacularly set in a secluded valley high in the hills. This Pepe Gancedo designed course uses all the natural contours of the land to produce a golf experience that you will not forget. Ravines to shoot over, platform greens to target and the river to negotiate. A great challenge.
18 Holes - Par 71 - 5593m

GUADALMINA
Two 18 hole courses are to be found at Guadalmina. The South course takes you down to the beach by the Guadalmina Hotel, where you can relax a little before a very tight drive on the 11th. The North course is more undulating as it heads inland to the Medranas reservoir.
SOUTH COURSE 18 Holes - Par 72 - 6200m
NORTH COURSE 18 Holes - Par 72 - 6135m

LA CALA
36 holes, a Golf Academy and superb clubhouse facilities make La cala arguably the most comprehensive golf complex on the coast. Out in the country and in spectacular terrain, both the courses provide a real challenge to professionals and amateurs alike.
SOUTH COURSE 18 Holes - Par 71 - 5960m
NORTH COURSE 18 Holes - Par 73 - 6160m

LOS NARANJOS
Another Robert Trent Jones masterpiece and host in the past to the European Seniors Championship. The front nine has broad fairways with avenues of orange trees and large undulating greens, whilst the back nine is flatter with lakes coming into play on the 12th, 15th, and the par 5 18th.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6457m

LA QUINTA
A 27 hole course overlooking Marbella's golf valley and with magnificent clubhouse facilities, La Quinta is on a hilly course with narrow fairways that demand accuracy to meet par. The club also runs tuition weeks for beginners and improvers and has excellent practice facilities.
27 Holes - Par 72 - 5831m

MARBELLA
At 6500m from the back tees, Marbella Golf is a long course and as you would expect, some brave tee shots are required to achieve par. A Robert Trent Jones designed course, ravines and gullies catch the poor drive on the opening holes. The par 3 fourth in particular is just tee to green. Challenging, enjoyable golf.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6500m

RIO REAL
Designed by Javier Arana and opened in 1966, Rio Real is a well manicured course over hilly terrain that makes it a challenging test. Plenty of established trees offer shade in the summer and the fourth and fifth holes come down to the sea. Well worth a visit.
18 Holes - Par 72 - 6071m

MIJAS
A very popular 36 hole golf complex designed by Robert Trent Jones. Los Lagos is an open, relatively flat course with 8 lakes to contend with, and features large, raised greens well guarded by bunkers. The Olivos course favours the precision golfer rather than the big hitter, with narrow fairways and tight greens.
LOS LAGOS 18 Holes - Par 71 - 6348m
LOS OLIVOS 18 Holes - Par 72 - 5896m
