Trade in Services

UNSD is member of the Task Force on International Trade in Services, chaired by OECD.

UNSD acts as Chair and Secretariat of the Technical Subgroup on the Movement of Persons - Mode 4. The establishment of this TSG was in response to the need for a statistical framework to measure the economic impact of the movement of natural persons, and in particular of Mode 4, on the home and host countries.

UNSD undertakes technical cooperation activities and assistance to countries through workshops and country projects in collaboration with other agencies.

UNSD has developed a pilot version of a global database on trade in services statistics by EBOPS category and partner country. Whereas most data are currently sourced from OECD and IMF, UNSD will also start collecting these statistics from its member countries.
