Big 5 continues to play a vital role in driving the competitiveness, fun and ultimately the fund raising in March of Dimes WalkAmerica for families everywhere. For the past several years, the company has participated in WalkAmerica, raising more than $1,000,000 for the March of Dimes by engaging their customers through an annual in-store, paper cutout promotion. Customers also can pick up a local WalkAmerica sponsor form in stores.

One of the world's leading providers of videos, DVDs and video games, Blockbuster Video franchise locations support March of Dimes by raising contributions through their annual “Save A Bundle” promotion in select stores nationwide totaling more than $212,000 over the past three years. Their partnership includes national sponsorship of March of Dimes WalkAmerica for 12 consecutive years, as well as national sponsorship of the Prematurity Campaign since 2003. The company and its employees have contributed $17 million to the March of Dimes. In 2005, CIGNA featured the March of Dimes in its Benefits of Caring program, which included an advertorial about the cost of premature birth. This ad ran nationwide in the Wall Street Journal, wsj.com and Smart Money. Additionally, CIGNA’s dedicated employees serve on local March of Dimes chapter boards, participate in special events and reinforce the March of Dimes mission to generate additional revenue for the March of Dimes through corporate promotions, such as Bean Bag for Babies sales and unique promotions like the Knit-In in Connecticut and the Dunk Tank in Chattanooga

Citigroup has experienced a meteoric rise in March of Dimes WalkAmerica fund raising since the company’s first national effort in 2000. Over the past nine years, the company has raised more than $11.4 million towards the March of Dimes mission. In 2005, the Citigroup WalkAmerica Team ranked No. 2 among 20,000 participating companies nationwide, with more than 6,500 Citigroup management, staff and family participating in 49 states and Puerto Rico.

Continental Airlines
The March of Dimes welcomes Continental Airlines as a new sponsor of March of Dimes WalkAmerica and the Foundation’s distinguished National Ambassador Program. In-kind product donations compliment Continental’s promotion of March of Dimes WalkAmerica through the companies in-flight magazine and television programming. Continental will also recruit key volunteer leaders at major worksites nationwide to establish WalkAmerica teams of friends and families.

Euphoria Water Company
Since distributing and selling a March of Dimes-branded bottled water in Arizona, California and Florida in 2002, Euphoria’s partnership has expanded to a national campaign with bottled water sales in such stores as 7-Eleven, Albertsons, Save-Mart, Quick Stop and more. Euphoria is committed to raising $200,000 through 2007 for the March of Dimes and is working hard to get brand exposure into the hands of the American public. The company generously donates more than 60,000 bottles of water to support WalkAmerica annually.

Famous Footwear leads our retail partners as a national sponsor of March of Dimes WalkAmerica for the past four years. Since 1997, Famous Footwear customers and associates have contributed $3 million to support March of Dimes lifesaving research and programs, and for the first time in 2005, moved into the No. 10 position among the top WalkAmerica Teams nationwide. FedEx Corporation
FedEx is dedicated to effective corporate citizenship and is leading the way in charitable giving. FedEx employee volunteers have participated in March of Dimes WalkAmerica since 1979. In 2005, the company committed to national sponsorship of WalkAmerica raising more than $1.6 million and ranking in as No. 5 WalkAmerica Team. Over the past seven years, FedEx contributions total more than to $5.2 million through their FedEx Express, Ground, Freight and FedEx Kinko’s business units. Innovative fund raising activities, dedicated personal and strong leadership from FedEx’s field staff allows the company to maximize its participation and presence in local WalkAmerica events. Employees serve on special event committees, hold volunteer positions and advocate for America’s babies in our nation’s capital. Expanding on the company’s many initiatives supporting the March of Dimes is FedEx’s national sponsorship of the Prematurity Campaign.

A brand of Church & Dwight Co., Inc., First Response moves into their second year as a national sponsor of March of Dimes WalkAmerica and a national supporter of Prematurity Awareness Month. Sponsorship compliments their support through extensive co-branding on packaging, literature/product displays, in-store promotion and advertising.

Grain Foods Foundation
The Grain Foods Foundation, a joint venture of members of the milling and baking industries formed in 2004, is dedicated to advancing the public’s understanding of the beneficial role grain-based foods play in the human diet. As a new national WalkAmerica sponsor, the Grain Foods Foundation is committed to raising awareness for the important role that B vitamins and folic acid, in particular, play in helping prevent birth defects. Foods made from enriched grains have been fortified with twice the amount folic acid found in whole grain products. Fortification of enriched grains with folic acid has accounted for a 36 percent decline in neural tube defects (NTDs) in Hispanics and a 34 percent decline among white, non-Hispanics between 1995 and 2002. The Grain Foods Foundation will provide national publicity and retail support in conjunction with its “Grains for LIFE” campaign, as well as consumer nutrition education materials in English and Spanish.

Gymboree Corporation
The Gymboree Corporation provides quality apparel and accessories for children ages newborn to seven. Gymboree has a long-standing relationship with the March of Dimes nationally, conducting in-store fund raising promotions in Gymboree, Janeville and Janie & Jack stores, raising nearly $300,000 over the past three years. Gymboree’s partnership with the March of Dimes began in 1993 when the retailer started a “Gymboree Clothing Donation Program” resulting in millions of dollars of returned merchandise being donated to the March of Dimes for distribution to the needy through March of Dimes programs including Stork’s Nest, Comenzando bien, and other prenatal care incentive programs.

Kawasaki Motor Corporation
Kawasaki signed on in 2005 for a three-year national sponsorship of RIDE, the March of Dimes newest and fastest growing special events involving an estimated 40,000 motorcyclists in over 80 markets nationwide.  RIDE provides an opportunity for motorcycle clubs, dealerships, vendors and individual motorcyclists to join together to make a positive contribution to the community and to the motorcycling image. Kawasaki's sponsorship includes extensive promotion of our partnership through national media buys, co-op advertising programs and various fund raising activities nationwide.  Kawasaki has more than 1,500 dealers nationwide, and produces a diversity of products including Ninja® sportbikes, classic Vulcan™ cruisers, rugged ATV and Mule™ utility vehicles and exclusive JET SKI© watercraft.

Knowledge Learning Corporation
From the earliest stage of development, Knowledge Learning Corporation’s child care centers emphasize whole-child development through age-appropriate learning activities. Their most important mission is the total development and constant nurturing of children. The company’s KinderCare and Mulberry Child Care locations have participated as a national team in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica since 1997 contributing $5 million towards the March of Dimes mission to save America’s babies. Kmart Corporation
No company has done more for America’s babies than Kmart. Since 1984, Kmart associates and customers have raised an unprecedented $49.3 million to help the March of Dimes save babies. 2005 marked the company’s 21st year as the No. 1 WalkAmerica Team in the nation among 20,000 participating companies. Kmart’s support of the March of Dimes through WalkAmerica includes an in-store sneaker cutout promotion generating more than 90 percent of the company’s total annual contribution. This program engages the customer at point of purchase by giving them the opportunity to make a donation in support of Kmart’s commitment to the March of Dimes.

Established in 1891, Merck discovers, develops, manufactures and markets vaccines and medicines in more than 20 therapeutic categories. Sponsorship of the March of Dimes’ celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Salk Vaccine at the Smithsonian Institute introduced the relationship in 2005. Merck has provided the March of Dimes with a grant to update and re-brand a brochure distributed to new mothers all over the nation to help educate them about vaccination schedules for their babies.

Motherhood® Maternity, the largest maternity retailer in the U.S. and a national sponsor of the Prematurity Campaign, is committed to providing vital information to help pregnant women decrease the risk of premature birth and become aware of the warning signs of preterm labor. First-time purchasers in Motherhood Stores receive gift bags with a bilingual March of Dimes Pregnancy & Newborn Health Education Center brochure, providing instructions on how to access information on hundreds of pregnancy topics. The company also supports the March of Dimes through an annual in-store promotion and click-through campaign on motherhood.com and maternitymall.com, which has raised more than $500,000 over the past five years. Currently, Motherhood store customers can purchase a “Motherhood: It’s Hot” awareness bracelet with proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes.

Retail Ventures, Inc. is a leading retailer currently operating Filene’s Basement, DSW and Value City Department Stores throughout the country. Over the past three years partnering with March of Dimes, the RVI associates have generated more than $1.2 million through the sale of paper cutouts in their brand stores nationally.

Sara Lee Bakery Group, Inc.
Sara Lee Bakery Group, the first bakery to fortify their whole wheat bread, supports the March of Dimes by conducting three “Whole Grains, Whole Diet; Folic Acid Now Fortified in Whole Wheat” promotions taking place July 2005 through June 2006 in several participating retail chains selling the EarthGrains Extra Fiber brands of bread. Each of the promotions will include in-store display materials featuring EarthGrains messaging, the importance of folic acid in preventing birth defects and the March of Dimes logo. Sara Lee is committed to generate $100,000 through this new national partnership around healthy nutrition for women!

ShopKo is a company focused on quality, convenience and value, combining health care services with a large discount store. The company has been committed to the March of Dimes as a multi-market WalkAmerica sponsor for three years, and has expanded their sponsorship into six states. United Auto Workers/Ford Motor Company
United Auto Workers (UAW), one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America, and Ford Motor Company, a global family leading consumer company for automotive products and services, partnered together in 2005 for the first time in history in a coordinated fundraising effort to support March of Dimes WalkAmerica. Ford manufacturing, dealerships and support facilities working in conjunction with local UAW members throughout the country raised more than $274,000 for the March of Dimes and have committed to enhance their support for a greater 2006 campaign.
