Birds of a Feather B&B in Victoria, BC

Discover beautiful Victoria, British Columbia while you stay at Birds of a Feather Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers Annette and Dieter have a lovely establishment, which is located on an ocean Migratory Bird Sanctuary.  The hosts make you will feel right at home.  Birds of a Feather is an intimate, adult oriented bed and breakfast. The view from the deck and dining room is breathtaking.

Birds of a Feather hold people’s relationships in the highest regard. Annette and Dieter are honored when Birds of a Feather is chosen for weddings, honeymoons or special anniversaries. They extend the same room rate in effect when you honeymoon with them for your silver, gold, emerald or diamond anniversaries.

For those who are married in Victoria, Annette and Dieter offer to assist with details. In Spring, Summer and Fall, They recommend the Gardens at Hatley Castle. These gardens are free for small parties. Your hosts can also put you in touch with a Marriage Commissioner who is authorized to perform the ceremony.

Annette and Dieter invite you to a romantic getaway in front of the wood burning fireplace. What a cozy way to spend a romantic evening with the love of your life.

Birds of a Feather offer many other unique services as well. You will awaken to the aroma of a home-cooked breakfast. The meals are delicious.

Through the day you can stroll the rustic beaches, which offer a spectacular view of the majestic, snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Here, you can collect driftwood or, in the evening, enjoy sitting around a campfire.

For a nature experience, hike through the local parks or use Birds of a Feather’s courtesy kayaks, rowboats, bicycles and canoes to access Royal Roads University where you can explore Hatley Castle and the Gardens.

Take a walk to historic Fort Rodd Hill, a coast artillery fort that was built in the late 1800’s to defend Victoria and Esquimalt Naval Base. You can explore gun batteries, underground magazines, guardhouses and barracks.

Fisgard Lighthouse offers great displays that tell of shipwrecks and lives saved. Friendly staff, signs, and audio-video stations make both of these National Historic sites a delight to visit. Here, you can watch graceful white swans and majestic bald eagles along with sixty other species that call Esquimalt Lagoon home.

Take a fifteen drive to beautiful Butchart Gardens, fifty acres of floral finery and breathtaking views. Visit the Sunken Garden and Rose Garden where past traditions are maintained. Butchart Gardens have delighted visitors for almost a century.

Whale Watching and other Marine Wildlife Tours are available year round from downtown Victoria. These tours are a great adventure where you see spectacular sights. The experience is unforgettable.

Be sure to make reservations through Birds of a Feather to spend a full or half day with Guided Birding and Eco Tours, Vancouver Island. Professional bird guide, Richard McDonald will be your guide. transportation is provided from Birds of a Feather. They offer binoculars local bird identification books, a bird checklist, soft drinks and juice. There are over 331 bird species in the area and Richard will guide you to various types of habitat. He also offers custom tours to the individual’s specifications.

After a full day, stop in at The Blethering Place Tea Room and Restaurant. This authentic British Tea Room provides a traditional setting where you can enjoy a delicious dinner. They have an extensive menu and the food is great.

Then, back to Birds of a Feather, where you will enjoy an evening of relaxation before heading off to bed.  There are a variety of rooms to choose from. Annette and Dieter have done an excellent job of creating rooms that fit the tastes of all individuals.

The Fancy Feathers room is ideal for 2 to 4 guests. It is often booked for honeymoons and anniversaries. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed and down filled pillows and comforter. There is a twin bed and rollaway cot for extra guests. There is cable TV, a VCR and a mini-fridge for your convenience.  This room is decorated with handmade quilts. The rate is $120 Canadian or about $80 US per night.

The Bird House is a cozy love nest for two. It is furnished with a double brass bed. Cable TV and a mini-fridge are provided. The rate for this room is $85 Canadian or about $60 US.

The Just Nesting room is decorated in a nautical/lighthouse theme. The rate for this room is $95 Canadian or about $65 US.

Birds of a Feather accept Visa, MasterCard and personal checks. The deposit is equal to one night’s stay.

If you like to hike, there are numerous trails near Birds of a Feather. Just down the road is an old growth of woods, which makes a delightful spot to hike. Or, if you wish, seek out the Juan de Fuca Marine trail with its magnificent breathtaking views and marine tidal pools and rain forest at China Beach.
