'We cannot believe that people have stayed here who went out in the canoe at 3:00 a.m.! A great tribute to Annette & Dieter's easy hospitality. We cancelled our cruise after our first night in the "nest". The next seven days were filled with wonderful Vancouver Island day trips that were absolutely breathtaking. If you are only here for three days then you need to come back right away for another week. Every day has been a new adventure and it was because we listened to Dieter & wrote it down. This is paradise and we have found it. Thank you so much Annette & Dieter, our new & great BC friends. '

time to canoe and paddle-boat around the lagoon, play in the stream, watch the
birds, visit Fisgard Lighthouse and Fort Rodd Hill, go on a whale watching boat
tour, visit 2 castles (Craigdarroch and Hatley) eat some good food, have breakfast
with interesting folks from around the continent and get to know Dieter a little.
Christopher met some kids his age. We had some beautiful sunny weather (and a
little rain). It was a magical time, and we wish we could have stayed longer.

food, all thanks to the wonderful suggestions from Dieter!! The other couples

Birds of a Feather. The day before we were to leave home Gary had a stroke. Dieter
graciously changed our reservation to August. It's been a long summer of therapy
and recovery, which made this week even more special. We loved the birds, the
cozy place out of the rain, and the yummy breakfasts. After looking forward to
this for so long, it is now gone in a flash, but we plan to come back, and until
