Victoria Storm Watching in the winter months BC

Winter Storm Watching in Victoria along Ocean Blvd. at our location

The winter months provide the best storm watching along the Pacific north-west coastlines.  Storm watching continues to grow in popularity as tourists come from around the world to witness the ocean in a fury as it pounds the coastline. Frequent winter storms whip the Pacific into a fury creating row upon row of giant waves that crash in spectacular fashion all along the coast. It truly is a sight to behold.

An excellent vantage point is right here from the waterfront deck of Birds of a Feather Ocean-front B&B in Victoria. Located just west of downtown the waves can easily be seen pounding the ocean beaches from the safety of our deck protected from the open ocean by the Esquimalt Lagoon. 

A 5 minute walk is all that separates the spectator from ground zero where the waves pound the coastal shoreline, but be careful; winter storms can bring in 25 foot seas and high winds which can be very dangerous. Monster waves create a powerful roar which is enjoyed and can be heard throughout the area.
