Las Vegas ? The tempting aromas, exciting flavors and festive atmosphere of an Old World village market have inspired the Cypress Street Marketplace, the all-new casual dining destination open now at Caesars Palace.
Cypress Street Marketplace offers nine popular cuisines in separate self-serve action stations staffed by Caesars? expert team of chefs. Conveniently located near The Forum Shops at Caesars, the new venue is the perfect place to stop for a shopping break, a quick snack, or an affordable lunch or dinner.
Guests enter the marketplace under a modern interpretation of seven life-size California Cypress Trees. There, they are greeted by a Passport Host/Hostess who offers a dining passport ? a ?smart? card that guests swipe through card readers at each action station. The ?smart? card system makes it easy for guests to pick up a steamy lobster bisque, return to get a hand-carved turkey entrée, and go back for ice cream and coffee ? hot soup to frosty ice cream without multiple trips through a checkout line. When guests have finished eating and begin to depart they present the Food Passport ?smart? card to cashiers who record their purchases and charge them to guest room accounts or accept cash or credit card payment.
Cypress Street Marketplace is open from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Two of its nine action stations are open round-the-clock; Java Coast offers specialty coffees and pastries, and Slice Bar serves beverages 24 hours daily, seven days a week and pizza from 11 a.m. until 4am.
Prices range from $2.25 for a generous slice of cheese pizza to $5.95 for a pint of kung pao chicken with steamed rice; from $8.95 for a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, to $12.95 for a fresh Maine lobster roll sandwich.
Personal service at Cypress Street Marketplace begins when guests are greeted at the entrance. At action stations, Caesars culinary attendants are pleased to customize menu orders. As guests approach a table with their selections, a marketplace attendant assists in unpacking their picnic baskets. In addition to the soft drinks, juices, fresh lemonade, wines and beers available at retail display areas near the action stations, guests also are offered European-style tableside wine service. A peddlers cart is rolled around the marketplace offering tempting display desserts.
Guests who wish to take their orders ?to go? find all the menu items can be packaged in high quality to-go containers at each action station, where selections like beef and broccoli are available in pint or quart sizes and just-cooked burgers are quickly wrapped for fans who want to get back to their seats in the nearby Sports Book.
Spacious dining areas in the Marketplace combine to offer 300 seats, with an additional 18 in Java Coast and 62 in Slice Bar. Seating is available in varied styles that reflect a fun ?Picnic in the Marketplace? atmosphere, including picnic tables and bistro-style umbrella tables under stylized trees.
The venue?s eclectic style marries contemporary elements with Old World Italy and New World Napa Valley. In the west dining room is a Wall of Memories, which includes wall-mounted samples of art and décor formerly displayed within Caesars Palace; included are some of the original bricks used to build the resort.
Free self-parking and valet parking is available just steps away, in the Caesars Palace covered parking facility, near Industrial Road. This casual dining experience does not accept reservations.
