Section III
of the Chattooga is the perfect
trip for novices and family groups. Most of the rapids on
this section are class 2 and 3, gradually increasing in difficulty
as the trip progresses. Bull Sluice is the highlight of the trip.
Dropping 14 feet over a series of three drops, this challenging
rapid provides a resounding introduction to the technical rapids
downstream. There are both guided and follow-a-guide rafts on
this trip. If you would like to guarantee a guide in your boat
you must do so when making the reservation, there is an additional
charge.
*All Chattooga trips require that guests hike into and out of the 1/4 mile
protected corridor. Guests should consider the strenuous nature of the trip
and expect to assist in carrying equipment.
