Speeding Law

Speeding on the highways and biways can be a dangerous activity and should only be done by emergency vehicles. There are many ways that speeding can get out of hand and either cause an accident or result in a ticket. Highway patrol officers don't take speeding lightly and they will certainly hand out tickets to anyone who doesn't agree.

But there are other reasons not to speed as well. One reason is the toll it takes on your vehicle. Whether you have a Cadillac or a Chevy, most cars aren't meant to be driven at high speeds for any length of time. Some cars are considered high performance and can handle these situations better than others (a Dodge Viper or a Porsche are good examples), but there is still a price to be paid for overworking any vehicle by speeding.

Speeding is acceptable if the vehicle is for emergency purposes. An ambulance, fire truck or police officer all have emergency lights and sirens for such a case when speeding is necessary. I would imagine we all would agree that an ambulance taking an injured person to the hospital is a perfectly acceptable reaason for speeding.

So if you are a hot rodder with a sporty car, heed these words and beware the pitfalls and dangers of speeding. Unless you are on a closed course, it is best to keep it under the speed limit. But if you are in areas of Montana where the speed limit reads "whatever is reasonable and prudent", the limit is subjective and one can push this matter a little beyond the boarders of what we have spoke of.

Consult a lawyer to help with your ticket. Most will have their paralegals assit with the paperwork.
