DAY 1: ARRIVAL! Students will be met by a
member of the school & taken to their homestay.
DAY 2: PACIFIC ISLAND CRUISE. This allday
excursion cruises to a beautiful private island by
catamaran. Time to snorkel, kayak, hike, etc.
DAY 3: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! We will
have an orientation and placement test before
lunch. CLASSES FROM 1PM TO 4PM. SALSA DANCE CLASS FROM 4PM TO 5PM. Return to
the families by private bus at 6pm for dinner.
DAY 4: BUTTERFLY FARM: This tour visits a
butterfly garden with a tour of the site and an explanation
of the life of a butterfly. CLASS FROM
1PM TO 4PM. SALSA & CONVERSATION CLASS
FROM 4PM TO 6PM. Return to the homes at 6pm.
DAY 5: FREE MORNING. We will begin pick
ups at 10am to go to the mall to change money, use
the internet, etc. CLASS FROM 1 TO 4PM. SALSA & COOKING FROM 4PM TO 6PM.
WELCOME DINNER AT 6PM. A buffet dinner
at a restaurant overlooking the city lights with a
folkloric dance show. Drop offs begin at 10pm.
DAY 6: MUSEUM & SHOPPING. CLASS
FROM 1 TO 4PM, FOLLOWED BY DANCE &
MUSIC CLASSES UNTIL 6PM. Then movies!
DAY 7: CARTAGO & LANKESTER. We will
go to the former capital of San Jose, home to the
most important church in the country. Then to visit
Lankester Gardens, home to 800 species of orchids.
CLASS FROM 1PM TO 5PM, FOLLOWED
BY SALSA DANCE. Drop offs at homes at 6pm.
DAY 8-9: PACIFIC BEACH WEEKEND. We
will drive to the Punta Leona Beach Hotel, on the
Pacific coast. There we will swim in the ocean or at
our hotel pool. Overnight here. All activities and
meals are included. |
DAY 10: FREE MORNING. Sleep in, pack,
etc. Those who are doing the 10-dy trip will go
home. CLASS FROM 1PM TO 4PM, FOLLOWED
BY 2 HOURS OF SALSA DANCE.
Drop offs begin at 8pm after roller skating.
DAY 11: CAFÉ BRITT COFFEE TOUR.
This award-winning musical tour explains the
importance of coffee in the region. CLASS
FROM 1PM TO 4PM, FOLLOWED BY SALSA
DANCE & MUSIC TIL 6PM. Return to homes.
DAY 12: AMIGOS DE LAS AVES. Today
we will see a scarlet macaw breeding program
and bird refuge. CLASS FROM 1-4PM, FOLLOWED
BY SALSA DANCE & COOKING TIL
6PM. Movies tonight then home at 8pm.
DAY 13: RAINFOREST AERIAL TRAM:
This tour visits the lush Braulio Carrillo National
Park, located 1 hour outside of San Jose. Guides
take visitors on tram rides above the rainforest
to explain the canopy and on a walk to see local
flora and fauna. CLASS FROM 1 TO 4PM.
SALSA DANCE & CONVERSATION TIL 6PM.
DAY 14: FREE MORNING. Students will get
organized for the weekend, change money, use
the internet, have lunch, etc. Our graduation
ceremony is at 12pm. CLASS FROM 1PM TO
4PM, THEN SALSA & CONVERSATION. We
will go bowling tonight to celebrate til 8pm.
DAY 15-6: ARENAL VOLCANO. We will
arrive at Arenal, eat & check into the hotel at
1pm. Then, head to the Tabacon Hot Springs to
swim & have dinner. The following day we will
visit a waterfall & see the active Arenal volcano
before returning to San Jose in the evening.
DAY 17: RETURN HOME. We will pick each
student up at their homestays to transfer to the
airport. |
