Contrast
Hey, we’re Contrast, a young unsigned 5 piece rock/metal band from Weston-Super-Mare, England. Our members range from ages 14-16. We have been around since the summer of 2003, and since have written many songs and recorded some of them. Our singer, Tom only joined the band in September 2004 but learned our songs immediately and he has helped the band take a giant step forward. Our members are:

We mainly play rock/metal but we like to add other styles of music into our songs e.g funk, prog, arabic, thrash, punk and more. We kind of sound like a cross between Iron Maiden and Rush with a bit of punk/emo.
We have already started doing gigs around Weston-Super-Mare, Nailsea and Bristol and we’re looking to play anywhere, anytime, we just wanna get known.
We have a 3 track demo CD out and 2 other tracks recorded. We should have a full length album by Autumn 2005.

Deficit
Thanks for checking us out. To tell you a little about the band, we formed in 2003. We started out when Eric (vocals/guitar) and Josh (lead guitar) started playing in the forth grade. We started playing more and more and then in sixth grade we started playing Metallica covers of Enter Sandman at our school in battle of the bands. After we stated playing Metallica songs Josh's brother Dave wanted to join in the fun and play as well. So he got a drum set and started to learn how to play the Metallica covers with us. After a year of playing cover songs and becoming comfortable with each other, we started writing our own music.
In early 2003 after completing our first song, entitled Monastery Barricade, we then met up with our first bassist, Rosario Spaccaferro. We now had a full band together and things were going well. We started writing as many songs as we could and practiced as much as possible. In early 2003, we won a first place prize of $1000 in our first ever battle of the bands against 42 other bands. After we had about three or four songs written and completed we decided to go to the studio and record our very first three song demo.
After we released the demo we started playing a lot of shows and trying to get our music out there as much as we could. Then mid 2004 Rosario had to leave the band to go to college. So now we were without a bassist for the first time since we started. We went on for about a year trying to still play shows and look for new a bassist's. We stopped playing shows for a while because of school and other activities and so the band kind of took a few month break from everything.
After a few months had passed and we had barely even talked to each other we decided that it was time to get this thing going again. So we started to practice again and we made up about 5 or 6 more songs. Then we started booking shows again and playing more than we ever had. It was really starting to be ok not having a bassist.
Then one of our friends Mark Harrison decided that he would try out for the position. He was Amazing. He just blew us out of the water with his talent. After one practice with him we new we had a new bassist. He brought a new life to the band and after he joined we were ready for some big shows.
A few weeks after Mark joined we played at the Clearwater Theater in West Dundee, IL. and it was AWESOME!!! We brought in over fifty people and stole the whole night. So now we have many shows coming up, new material always on the way, and a full band again. We are planning to get a new demo out by next summer ('06) and to have a ton of shows in the mean time. We look forward to meeting a ton of new fans and bands.

Exoterica
Exoterica formed in late 2004 but really didn't get going until the lineup was completed and a band name was sorted in the early months of 2005.
The band is a product of an evening course in Contempoary Music Practice which broke beyond the confines of the subject.
Taking great influences from Metal bands such as Metallica and Megadeth, the Exoterica sound is a combination of 80's Thrash and other influences, both new and old.

From Almost the End
‘From Almost The End’ formed in August 2003 originally under the name of Inscape.
The band’s initial vision was to create something different in the well explored genre of metal. Disagreeing with the view that Nu-metal has killed the genre F.A.T.E have set about proving that there's plenty more to be explored. Taking influences from an eclectic range of music the band quickly found their own original sound. In February 2004 F.A.T.E teamed up with producer/live engineer Neak (FFAF, Hondo Maclean, Sikth, Vero) to record their debut E.P. ’Fighting The Urge’. The E.P. captured the bands original sound and started catching the attention of promoters and audiences in the local scene. Having developed their style further F.A.T.E completed their second E.P. ’From Almost The End’ in November 2004. It was later decided that ’From Almost The End’ was to become the band name after
searching for a better representation of their music. This E.P has seen the band branch out to a wider audience throughout Essex, London and neighbouring counties. The E.P. has continued to impress audiences and has helped the band to build a larger following around the southeast of the country.

They Formed back in 1999 and have under gone a few line up changes but the current is without a doubt there finest tightest and most creative to date.

Skeletal Embrace
In late 1998 one of Norfolk's local metal bands, Carrion, was reaching the end of its life. This was mostly due to a lack of progress within the local music scene. After a brief break the bass player, Chris, began writing a couple of songs purely from an experimental point of view. The songs were considerably more involved than those previously done with Carrion. The lyrics were written first and narrated an elaborate conceptual story whilst the music was faster and more complex, almost progressive. The initial goal was a musical cross between the speed and ferocity of At The Gates and the epic traditional influences of Iron Maiden. Chris decided the songs were worthy of being recorded and so enlisted the help of the previous band members; drummer Lloyd, guitarist Dale and Dean on vocals. The recording sessions turned into “A Landscape of Whorethorns” under the new name Skeletal Embrace. Though the songs turned out slightly more black metal than originally intended the band received enough encouragement from reviews and music fans that they considered the project worth pursuing.
Despite the length of the tracks already recorded there was not enough material to make live performance a possibility, so Chris began writing more material for a second CD with the same musical goal but with a slightly more trad metal influence than “Landscape...”
By this time Chris was playing more guitar than bass and Dale had moved away so two other musical acquaintances, Sean and Mark, joined the fold as guitarist and bass player respectively, providing the band with two guitarists. In the autumn of 2001 this line-up recorded the bands second CD “Portrait of the Thirteenth Requiem.” As with the first CD the lyrics followed a conceptual idea which would be concluded on a later recording.
The band felt that the new material over-shadowed its predecessor to the point that instead of pursuing the live situation at this stage more material in this new vein was preferable. More songs were written and recording begun on a third CD in the summer of 2003.
Mark was replaced by Gavin on bass and “Seven Cobwebs Breeding” was completed in early 2004, concluding the lyrical theme begun on “Requiem...”
There was now sufficient material to provide a basis for live performance and so, after four years and three CDs, the bands focus has switched to performing live to establish a fan base and gain interest from relevant labels.

WinterMoon
WinterMoon is a musical project born in Almada (Portugal), in late autumn of 2001.
The band’s main purpose was a seamless blending from mildly aggressive metal based styles to a whole melodic and melancholic universe, without falling in easy formulas, clichés, or the lack of life that is known to great part of the bands within the Doom/Gothic Metal scene.
