Todd
Iwamoto Wins Season Opener at Lake Sonoma!
Scbbbc kicked of their 2006 season opener at
Lake Sonoma on Saturday and 27 anglers were
greeted with extremely tough conditions. Only
19 bass were brought to the scales and it only
took 2 bass to win it all! Todd
Iwamoto was back
to show why he has 4 out of the last 5 Angler of
the Year trophy's setting at home. On a tough
day Todd was able to entice 2 nice bass to take
his custom made jig and that's all he needed to
claim 1st place with both big fish, 4.12lb & 3.30lb.
Congratulations to Todd for this first win of the
season. 2nd place goes to Russ Stansbury with a
weight of 5.29lb. Russ continues his dominance
since the end of last season with yet another top
3 finish. Russ surely must be considered a favorite
to contend for this years championship. 3rd place
went to Mike
Ayers with 4.42lb. Mike caught his
fish using a texas rigged sinko worked around wood.
4th place was Jay Bryant with 3.06lb. Jay also used
a sinko to place 4th. Welcome back Jay! 5th place
was taken by Travis Tarver with 2.67lb caught with
his jig. And just in the money was Bill
Sweatt with
6th place. We
had 27 anglers for the season opener
and it was a great event at Lake Sonoma even
though the bass didn't seem to want to bite. Thanks
to Pat Parsons for driving down from Auburn and to
all the new faces that showed up for their first taste
of tournament fishing we hope we see you all next
month at Berryessa. Thanks to Club President Rich Caro for a great time
and all his good energy! Full
