OANDA introduced one of the first WAP based currency converter, the world's first media phone based on the Wireless Application Protocol in Mobile Media Mode (WWW:MMM). On February 23, 1999, this pilot service was premiered at the GSM World Congress 99 in Cannes, France, where Nokia unveiled the first media phone and demonstrated the first WAP services.
