The UK brings to mind royalty, football, rain and lush countryside, although that is only a snippet of what the UK has to offer. Made up four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the UK is full of contrasts: ancient monuments, fascinating history, country lanes, flashy nightclubs and many cultures create the special British character. By renting a car while visiting the UK, you will be able to experience all of these countries at any pace you choose.

London, located in southern England is one of the world's most fashionable cities. It is also most likely the city in which you will arrive in when flying into the UK. Here you will find a plethora of attractions such as Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge and Trafalgar Square. The Museums are exceptional and large so make sure to allocate plenty of time. In London something is always happening, be it the latest film premiere in Leicester Square, the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament in June, or the Chelsea flower show also in June, the abundance of activity is enough to keep even the most insatiable person entertained.

Beyond London, the UK has many sensational attractions, including the Canterbury Cathedral in Kent - originally build in 597AD, Stonehenge in Wiltshire - a 5000 year old monument that oozes mystery and the birthplace of Shakespeare - Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Scotland's grand, rugged, mystical landscape won't fail to impress you. The Highlands wilderness, ancient castles and thriving cities make Scotland an awesome destination.

Edinburgh, Scotland's most charming city is rich in exquisite sites. Edinburgh Castle dates back to 850BC and houses Scotland's most precious treasures including the Crown Jewels of Scotland. A tour of the castle should not be missed. In the National Gallery of Scotland displays of fine artwork from the Renaissance to Post-Impressionism await you. Every August brings the renowned Edinburgh Festival at which you are guaranteed to laugh your socks off at the many quality comedy acts.

The natural spaces that abound in Scotland offer scenic hiking and cycling routes and world-class golf courses. Adventurous souls should make the trek to one of Scotland's rugged islands.

The mountainous countryside of Wales is an outdoor fanatics paradise. Hike the ancient border of England, Offa's Dyke. Catch splendid views from the Snowdonia National Park.
