Swim Opportunities & Aquatic Programs

San Luis Obispo County Parks proudly operates and manages a range of aquatic locations and facilities. All facilities are staffed with lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Vista Lago Swim Area at Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande, offers excellent fresh water lake swimming. Waterskiing, windsurfing, boating, and other aquatic activities including a privately-owned water slide are available.

Cayucos Beach offers ocean swimming, surfing, diving, kayaking, wind surfing, boating, shoreline and pier fishing opportunities.

Pool Facilities are available for recreational swim, swim lessons, lap swimming, aquatic aerobics, as well as private pool parties. Our pools operate from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day Monday. They are closed Mondays. Click here for Pool Schedules.

Our trained and experienced lifeguard staff also offers Swim Lessons from Memorial Day through Labor Day for all levels and abilities.

We offer a Junior Lifeguard Training Program for youth ages10 to 17 in Cayucos.

NOTE: Santa Margarita Lake is a NO SWIM LAKE as it provides local drinking water. However, swimming is available at Santa Margarita Lake Pool.
