CooksRecipes.com: A Premier Cooking & Recipe Internet Resource

About CooksRecipes.com and Its founder, Hope Pryor:

Since its debut in the latter half of 1998, CooksRecipes.com has evolved into one of the most popular and largest cooking and recipe sites on the Internet. It all began when I purchased a computer in 1998 and first became acquainted with the Internet. I soon discovered web pages created just for the fun of it, and was immediately smitten by the seemingly magic ability to display words and images on a computer screen via the Internet that could be seen by anyone across the world who had access to the Internet. I taught myself this amazing ability by reading every "how-to" article I could find on the subject of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), the basic building blocks of web page construction. With my newly acquired skill, I decided to combine it with my life-long love of the culinary arts and construct a useful cooking and recipe site that would be comparable in quality content to the large corporation-run recipe sites already online. My intention was that CooksRecipes.com would be a recipe resource that visitors would find enjoyable to visit, easy to navigate, and be able to choose with confidence any recipe without doubt of its accuracy.

Today, I can proudly say that the success of the website has exceeded far beyond any expectations I had for it in the beginning. Not one thin dime has been spent toward advertising and promoting CooksRecipes.com. Promotion has been by free submission to major search engines, indexes, link exchanges, and word-of-mouth. It has not been a fast and easy journey; it took over a year for Yahoo to list my site in the recipe category of their index. However, less than a year later CooksRecipes.com was listed in their "Top 10 Most Popular Recipe Sites". Yahoo no longer features such a list, but you will find CooksRecipes.com listed among the first ten sites in that same category. Recipes are the number one searched document on the Internet. Type in the word, "recipes", using Google Search and CooksRecipes.com generally places number 4 or 5 on the first page of results.

CooksRecipes.com averages 40,000 unique visitors, and 90,000 page views per day from over 100 countries worldwide, with the majority of visitors stemming from the United States, followed by Canada, Great Britain, Australia and Europe. There are over 10,000 opt-in only subscribers to my enewsletter, The Daily Recipe, which I began offering to visitors just a year ago. Revenue is generated by advertisement and commission sales from affiliate partnerships with such companies as Better Homes and Gardens, The Home Marketplace.com, JustFlowers.com, Pfaltzgraff, and more.

Young and old, male and female, moms and dads, college students, newlyweds, beginner cooks to executive chefs, those who love to cook, those looking for a lost recipe, or those who simply like to browse recipes...all eventually find their way to CooksRecipes.com.

A personal word from Hope Pryor:

First, I give all credit to the success of CooksRecipes.com to my Heavenly Father for allowing me the knowledge to build this website from the "ground up", for the gift of sharing and for the love of good food and cooking. I thank the Almighty Lord in Jesus Christ's glorious name! Amen and hallelujah!

As the sole proprietor of CooksRecipes.com, I am fully committed to providing you the best possible online cooking and recipe resource available on the Internet, and I'd like to hear how I'm doing! Please contact me with any thoughts or comments you may have on the recipes, features and shopping services.

Unfortunately, I can no longer give general food advice, such as "Why do my cookies always burn on the bottom" or "Can I substitute almond flavoring for the vanilla extract?", via e-mail. I recommend that you browse the Features, Charts & Tips section for culinary advice. Or visit Cooks Corner Forum, the MessageBoards of CooksRecipes.com, to post your question, share recipes and tips with others. Membership is free and registration is quick and easy. - Thanks! Hope Pryor
