Imagine eating the best food the Languedoc region has to offer, tasting the best local wines and seeing the most interesting sites…….but without the research, the driving and the wrong turns!

Based in Fitou at Experience Languedoc we have devoted our time to planning tours in the region that combine the best tastes, terrains and traditions.

We do the planning and driving, you relax and enjoy!

On our tours you have the opportunity to visit remote working farms, traditional fishing villages and stunning wine chateaus. You will meet individual producers, see how they work and taste their superb food and wine as part of a relaxing and enjoyable day.

Our tours are informal and informative limited to small groups travelling in a seven-seat, air conditioned people carrier.

We offer:

  • Gourmet food, wine and cultural tours (Choose from a selection including a  rustic Catalan tour, a Mediterranean coastal tour or a Minervois wine tour)

  • Organic wine & barbeque evenings

  • Bespoke tailor made tours including family activity days or tours designed for a special occasion or anniversary

  • All inclusive short breaks (further details below)

  • On-line shopping

Prices start at 40 € for a evening or half day tour and 80 euros for a full day tour

The following is an example of one of our 5 day all inclusive short breaks:

Day One
Guests are collected from the airport or train station (Narbonne or Perpignan) and taken to their bed and breakfast accommodation. Once there they will be welcomed by their Tour Guide who will share information about the local area and run through the tour itinerary. During the afternoon guests are free to explore the village or just relax and soak up the traditional French atmosphere.
Evening dinner will be a superb three course gourmet meal with wine at a local restaurant within walking distance of the accommodation.

Day Two
After a continental breakfast guests are collected form their accommodation and will travel up into the Alberes hills to visit remote working farms. This includes a goat’s cheese farm, a duck farm producing foie gras and cassoulet as well as an olive oil and wine producer. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the farms and cellars and sample the superb products. Lunch will be served ‘al fresco’ on one of the farms. During the afternoon there will be a visit to a picturesque village perched high on the side of a hill rated as one of the most beautiful in the Languedoc. Guests will return to their accommodation at approximately 5.30 pm.

Day Three
Free day to relax or explore the local area.

Day Four
Following breakfast guests will travel to the beautiful wine growing area of the Minervois where they will visit several wine producers including a chateau, part of which dates back to the 11th century. There will be an opportunity to sample a variety of red, white and rosé wines and learn about the history of wine growing in the region. Guests will experience a superb three course gourmet meal with wine in unique surroundings before travelling to a pretty village situated high above a stunning gorge.

Day Five
Following breakfast guests will travel south to explore a beautiful old fishing port close to the Spanish border. This is where brightly coloured fishing boats can be seen moored up in the harbour and where artists come to paint the stunning scenery.
Lunch will be in a traditional restaurant specialising in local cuisine. Following lunch guests have the opportunity to sample fresh oysters and mussels from the stunning inland salt water lagoons before returning to their accommodation.
At appropriate times guests will be collected from their accommodation and taken to the airport or train station.

Price: 600 € per person – double occupancy
650 € per person – single occupancy

It is possible for guests to extend their stay at the time of booking to take in more free time to explore the area.
