Manager

Overview:

The Manager of Caffè Artigiano™ is responsible for the day-to-day running of the café including managing a staff of ten employees, making specialty coffee, ordering food and supplies and various duties as required. Caffè Artigiano™ is known for its award winning coffee, latte art and barista skills, and we are looking for a manager with a commitment and passion for upholding that standard and being a part of our growth. We are looking for someone who can keep things balanced, remain positive and productive and set a strong example for the other staff members.

Responsibilities:

• Uphold the standards Caffè Artigiano™ has set for service, coffee quality and food
• Demonstrate integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote the culture, values and mission of Caffè Artigiano
• Ensure smooth running of the café-including supervising employees and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Set an example of customer service and integrity for the staff
• Constantly review store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement
• Ordering and maintaining supplies for the café: food, coffee inventory and supplies as needed
• Communicates ideas to the store managers for broader areas of improvement
• Monthly inventory
• End of the day cash procedures
• Scheduling
• Hiring

Qualifications & Experience:

• Two years progressively responsible retail, hospitality or restaurant industry experience, including one year of supervisory experience
• Barista knowledge (making specialty coffee) a plus, but not required
• Experince managing, training and motivating a team of 6-12 staff members

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, and team-building
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, communication, customer service and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
• Tact and professionalism when dealing with employees and customers
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Knowledge of the retail environment
• Experience in specialty coffee or restaurant industry an asset
• Ability to act with a “customer comes first” attitude and deliver customer service that meets or exceeds customer expectations
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships

Barista

Overview:  

Baristas are the final step in creating a memorable experience for our customers. In addition to preparing coffee and various espresso drinks, baristas are ambassadors for coffee and customer service. Caffè Artigiano™ offers training for baristas who participate in national and international competitions.

• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

• Promote Caffè Artigiano™ culture and values and promotes a positive image to the public and staff

• Remains calm and professional during high volume periods
• Anticipates customer and store needs by evaluating the situation and proactively communicating to managers or other staff for timely response to situation

• Keeps a clean, tidy work environment

• Trains new staff as required with positive reinforcement, respect and encouragement

• Baristas lead by example

• Deliver superior customer service to all customers, anticipating needs and helping create a memorable experience

• Ability to correct errors in drinks that are being prepared or served – never letting inadequate quality be served

• Contributes to a positive work environment by communicating with manager on issues such as staff moral and work performance

• Follow Caffè Artigiano™ policies, procedures and guidelines for drink preparation, cash handling, closing store procedures, health and safety rules.

Cashier

Overview:

The Cashier at Caffè Artigiano™ is responsible for the day-to-day till operations including proper keying procedures, cash handling, catering requests, interacting with customers.

Responsibilities:

• Follow Caffè Artigiano™ policies, procedures and guidelines for drink preparation, cash handling, closing store procedures, and health and safety rules.

• Treat all members of Caffè Artigiano™ team with respect

• Uphold the standards Caffè Artigiano™ has set for service, coffee quality and food

• Demonstrate integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote the culture, values and mission of Caffè Artigiano

• Take customer orders with respect and courtesy

• Be knowledgeable about coffee varieties, drink preparation, sandwich ingredients

• Ability to handle customer requests and ask manager for assistance when necessary

• Handle catering requests, prepare the order, deliver food on time

• Clear tables, serve food, work as part of the team on various duties as required
