I grew up on the Mad River in Northern California in the 1960's a small town
named Blue Lake, where I learned how to Salmon fish from our Cub Scout troop
leader, at fall camp when every year we would win the best Dinner Award, guess
what? Chrome Bright Fall King Salmon for about fifty young Cubs Scouts.
My Dads work took us up into Oregon in 1965 to Medford , where I grew up
Salmon Fishing on the upper Rogue River. I worked nights in High School at a
plywood mill to get my first boat and truck, and worked with some of the greatest
fishermen of the time, they took me under their wing and taught me the art of
bouncing bait, this was a new thing then and yes I had to row the drift boat, many
thanks to Merl Lee, Mel Morgan, Duane and his Dad Bill Phaff, and my long time
school bud George E. Scott (Whip) who really hooked me on plug fishing. Thats
were I met Willie from Alumaweld Boats, Willie took me under his wing on more
than one occasion and showed me the In's and out's of rowing that special drift
boat, needless to say its been a runaway ever since.

My work as a young Piping Designer took me to Alaska where I ended up at
Prudhoe Bay, with two weeks a month off to explore the Alaska King Salmon
Rivers, I found the Kenai River, in 1981 and have fished there every summer since
with my partner and best friend Mike Kelly (Fish Reaper) also a veteran of this
pristine water, and some of the best Alaska King Salmon Fishing anywhere.
Every year we treat our clients to some of the finest Alaska King Salmon Fishing
anywhere, we use only the finest Willie Boat Sleds, along with the best tackle
available from Loomis, Shamino, and Lure Jensen in the fleet, and then some.
Over the years we as Kenai River Guides have learned the In's and out's of this
fishery and what it has to offer, we'll catch plenty of fish in the 50# to 70# King
Salmon every year.

Yes I remember how it use to be, I remember the way Grandpa showed me how
to rig my rod, watch my speed & keep a close eye out, and Dad telling me stories
about his Grandpa telling him about the veins in the water, and how the salmon
use the currents moving up the river. I do remember them all because it's been
away of life in our family for over 100 years

I am offering you a opportunity to let me show you my skills right down to calling
the taxidermist! I'm looking forward seeing you all this summer in Alaska in
"the Land of the Midnight Sun", you cant beat a deal like that! Give me a call, and I'll
help you with any Alaska Information, Alaska Travel Information, or Alaska Lodging
There's salmon fishing, and then there is salmon fishing
