Marathon Florida

With New Editions' ideal location in Marathon, Fl, you will be minutes away from shopping, food, entertainment, a 58-bed Hospital, the only commercial airport between Key West and the Florida Mainland, Dolphin research center, Crane Point Hammock, Sombrero Beach and great charter fishing.
There's also marine shows, jet ski rentals, waverunner rentals, parasailing, sportfishing, movie theaters, playhouse, sailing, golf...Marathon has it all, yet it still retains its charm from it roots as a 19th century fishing village.
  • Marathon has the largest continuous live coral reef system in the Florida Keys, the only coral reef in the continental United States. Boating from our own dock you can reach famous Sombrero Reef for beautiful snorkeling and diving.
  • You'll also be right next to the famous 7-Mile Bridge, one of the most famous landmarks in the Florida Keys. Watch the sun melt into the horizon, opening up a kaleidoscope of colors.
  • At Sombrero beach, you'll find the long sandy beach and palm covered patios a great place to view the evening sunsets after a day of island living.
  • The Dolphin Research Center on nearby Grassy Key is a not-for-profit education and research facility. It's home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions. Visitors can meet the animals on a tour of the facility. You can even swim with the dolphins, for an unforgettable experience.
  • Crane Point Hammock is considered one of the most important historical and archaeological sites in the Keys. The 63.5 acre area contains evidence of pre-Colombian and prehistoric Bahamian artifacts, and once was the site of an entire Indian village. The site contains the Museum of Natural History of the Florida Keys, and an adjoining children's museum.
  • Historic Pigeon Key, which was a major railroad workers' encampment during the construction of the world famous 7 Mile Bridge, is a must for any visitor. The Island has a number of century-old buildings that are being restored by the Pigeon Key Foundation and are on the registry of historic places. You can get there by boarding a miniature train (which can be boarded at Knights Key on the west end of Marathon) taking you over the old 7 Mile Bridge.
The location says it all: Marathon is at mile marker 50, midpoint of the Florida Keys, and New Editions is near everything that matters…sandy beach, superb fishing, fine dining, and all the necessities of island life.
