Michael Therriault plays the title role in Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story. Photo Allan Feildel.
TOMMY CAN YOU HEAR ME?

He was North America’s first socialist government leader and the inaugural head of the federal New Democratic Party. He was a pioneer in universal medical coverage. Heck, he even won “The Greatest Canadian” competition. Now, in the CBC-TV production Prairie Giant, political firebrand Tommy Douglas gets the biopic treatment. The combination of actor Michael Therriault and director John N. Smith (The Boys of St. Vincent) produces stirring results.
