That's something you won't hear at 1 Cog. We're a small company with small overheads. We don't employ marketing directors, new account managers, creative directors and we don't have fancy offices in the smart part of town (maybe one day).

What we do have is over 15 years industry experience that focuses on providing our clients with excellent value. We monitor what other professional web design companies charge and make sure we are highly competitive in comparison.

Web Design

Each project is obviously unique and we therefore do not give a fixed-price structure.

We analyse your requirements and provide a detailed, no-obligation quote. The majority of web sites will fall in to one of these categories:

• Brochure web site: a few pages (we recommend a minimum of 5 pages in order to achieve good search engine position) showing company description, product details, contact details, etc.
• Catalogue web site: full catalogue of products with multiple images, contact details, feedback form, etc.
• Content Management System (CMS) web site: allows clients to develop and update their own web site without knowledge of any web technology.
• Ecommerce web site: a full online commerce presence, allowing you to sell your products on the internet.

Search engine submission & optimisation

If you use 1 Cog to design and construct your web site, search engine submission is included in the price.

If you have an existing web site that you wish to be promoted, we refer to this as 'search engine optimisation', which is described below.

Optimisation for existing sites - get to the top of search engines

If your web site is not achieving the search engine traffic you want we have a 100% success rate.

Because there are so many elements to consider when optimising a web site to improve search engine ranking, the price can vary enormously. Please go to the search engine optimisation page for full details.

Hourly rates

If we have designed your web site we provide minor adhoc changes and updates free of charge.

For jobs exceeding a few hours we prefer to give a fixed rate quote so you don't receive any unpleasant surprises when the invoice arrives.

For all other adhoc work, we charge a competitive hourly rate.

Methods of payment

UK clients may pay by cheque on presentation of invoice.

International clients may pay by wire transfer on presentation of invoice.

We also accept payment by credit card via PayPal, although wire transfer is preferred.

Late Payment

Late payment will incur daily interest charged at Bank of England base rate + 8% in accordance with The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Non-payment will result in suspension of hosting and email services. A reconnection fee of £80 is payable for suspended accounts.
