Signing Up for Web Monitor |
To sign up for a Web Monitor account, simply click the Get Monitoring Now link on the Web Monitor information page. This will bring you to the Web Monitor signup page.
|
Step 1: |
Name your Web Monitor Group.
You can create several Web Monitor groups to easily organize your different web sites, services, or customers. For example, if you have a personal web site and a business web site, you may want to set up two separate Web Monitor Groups, one which monitors locations on your personal web site, and one which monitors locations on your business web site. Each group can have as many or as few Locations as you need.
Choose a name for this Group and enter it into the space provided. Group names must be 1 - 14 alphanumeric characters, no spaces or symbols.
|
Step 2: |
Select a quantity of Monitoring Locations for this group.
During the signup process, you may choose a quantity of up to 10 Monitoring Locations for your group. Monitoring Locations can be added or subtracted at any time after signup, but you will receive a quantity price discount if you choose to add 10 Monitoring Locations to your group. |
Step 3: |
Add to cart.
At this point, you may add the Web Monitor Group to your cart and proceed to the checkout. Be sure that you've read and agreed to the Web Monitor Agreement. You may also continue down the signup page for optional pre-configuration settings. If you choose not to pre-configure your Group you may do this after signup at any time.
(Optional): Pre-configure Monitoring Locations for this Group
You may pre-configure some or all of your Monitoring Locations for this group prior to adding it to your shopping cart. These settings can be added, modified, removed, at any time after signup.
Give each Monitoring Location a friendly nickname and specify the address. The Location Name can be any name you wish to use to identify this location.
For example, if you wish to monitor the front page of your web site you might enter a nickname of "Home Page" and in the Location Address field you'll choose http:// and enter the URL www.mydomain.com/index.html. Then, on the next line you might want to monitor your log in page, so you could enter a nickname of "Login" and choose the https:// specification along with entering your login page URL, www.mydomain.com/login.asp.
In the next pre-configuration section you can set several Monitoring Location settings. Options include your Time Zone and a window in which your Location will be checked (leaving the start time and end time on 00 will mean that your Location is always checked). You can choose the interval at which your Location will be monitored, from 5 to 60 minutes. You can enable all of your Locations by default, and set up the contact name and address that will be notified upon changes to a Monitoring Location.
Once you have set up any optional pre-configuration options, you may add the Group to your cart. Be sure you have read and agreed to the Web Monitor Agreement.
