Chief Meteorologist Mark Danon appears weekdays on KRON 4 Morning News. He joined the KRON 4 weather team in January 2002.
Since joining KRON 4 he has helped launch the station's revolutionary weather presentation, including the development of 7-Day Forecasts for the various microclimates of the Bay Area, and a 52-city daily forecast, providing the most comprehensive weather coverage in the market.
Prior to joining KRON 4, Mark worked for four years at WCBS-TV in New York, initially as the weekend meteorologist, then moving to the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts. On the network level, Mark has worked as meteorologist and fill-in host for "CBS Saturday Morning," and has appeared on "CBS This Morning," and "The Early Show" with Bryant Gumbel.
Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida State University, with a major in meteorology and minors in mathematics and communications. He is an associate member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the AMS television seal of approval.
Mark lives with his wife, son and golden retriever in the East Bay. His hobbies include golf, skiing, tennis, and swimming.
