Missing Woman's Family Wants Answers
KRON 4's Craig Sklar reports from San Mateo where the family of an Alzheimer's patient wants to know why hospital officials released Elysse McCormick without notifying anyone. The woman has been spotted in San Francisco's Market District and her former home in Pacifica. McCormick has problems with memory. If you've seen her, contact the San Mateo Police department.

KRON 4 Meteorologist Mark Tamayo is tracking another wave of storms moving through the North Bay. Mark expects a wet day through most of the Bay Area on Thursday. The rain should stick around through Friday but there's a good chance for a break for most of the weekend. Mark also looks at conditions in the Sierra in the Snowbomb.com Ski Report while KRON 4's George Rask has the optimal departure times if you're planning a trip to the mountains.

Santa Rosa 101 Widening Progresses
KRON 4's Mark Jones reports from Santa Rosa where we've learned Caltrans has awarded a contract to widen two miles of Highway 101. It will take three years to add a carpool lane in each direction. Much of the work will be done at night but still traffic congestion is assured.
The Mission Responds to Fatal Shooting
KRON 4's Michelle Kennedy reports from The Mission District in San Francisco where community members are gathering to pray and offer respects for the victim of a shooting that left one person dead and three others wounded. The four people were standing outside a convenience store on Mission street when the shooting occurred.
Santa Clara County Reservoirs Filling Up
KRON 4's Rob Fladeboe reports from Santa Clara County where all of the recent rains have an up side... the reservoirs are full. Officials say above Los Gatos, the Lexington Reservoir is about to spill over. Experts say that doesn't mean there's a danger of downstream flooding, just that there should be plenty of water to use this summer.
Residents Await End of Hunters Pt. Plant
KRON 4's Karyn Holmes reports from San Francisco where residents of the Bayview District say they're eagerly awaiting the shutdown of the Hunters Point Power Plant. State regulators have approved the plan to shutter the plant. Karyn talks with community members who say the plant is responsible for widespread health problems.
Oakland Emergency Talks Face Deadline
KRON 4's Will Tran is tracking Oakland City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente's promise made on KRON 4 Tuesday that the city would reach an agreement on police staffing within 48 hours.  De La Fuente made the promise after voting against a state of emergency that would have allowed the police chief to set staffing levels.  The mayoral candidate says he still believes a deal will be reached.
Oakland Teacher Talks Resume
KRON 4's Don Knapp reports from Oakland where teachers and school administrators have returned to the bargaining table for the first time in six weeks. Union officials say this may be the last chance to avoid a strike. The district says it cannot afford the raises the teachers are demanding.   KRON 4's Catherine Heenan has the story of some Oakland school students who turned out Wednesday in support of their teachers.
Preparing to Treat Yourself for Bird Flu
KRON 4's Craig Sklar reports from San Jose where Santa Clara County Health officials are preparing for a possible bird flu pandemic. The Health Commission is holding public meetings and handing out pamphlets so that people can be prepared to treat their own loved ones in the case of a widespread outbreak.
Support Grows for Sonoma-Marin Rail
KRON 4's Julie Akins reports from San Rafael where a new poll shows growing support for a rail line linking Northern Sonoma County to the Larkspur Ferry. The numbers suggest residents of Sonoma and Marin Counties are willing to pay for the link. Still, three previous attempts failed to get voter support. The latest try to build the rail line will be on the ballots again in November of this year.
