Rafting Policy
Wildwater Ltd. has an excellent safety
record, but rafting is not without risks. Wildwater's permitting
agencies require all trips to meet specific equipment, first aid
and equipment standards. Type V life jackets must always be worn
on the river and helmets are required on most of our whitewater
trips. Safety procedures are explained in detail before and during
your trip and it is every rafter's responsibility to adhere to
these procedures. Every participant is required to sign a waiver
of liability prior to going on their rafting trip.
Managing agencies require basic first aid and CPR for all our
first year guides and Advanced First Aid and CPR for all guides
with more than 1 years experience. Many Wildwater guides have
received additional first aid training in one or more of the following:
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Wilderness First Responder,
and Wilderness Advanced First Aid.
Wildwater Ltd. prohibits use of alcohol or illegal drugs before
a trip or while on the water, prohibits harmful conduct or interference
of any kind with safety, and requires participants to inform Wildwater
of any pre-existing medical condition or use of prescribed medicines.
Wildwater reserves the right to remove any individual from a trip,
with no refund, if these policies are not followed.
