Section
IV
of the Chattooga begins where the
Wildwater Section III trip ends. This run covers the steepest section of river
currently being run on a commercial basis in the Southeast. In a one quarter-mile
gorge, the river drops more than 75 feet through the famed Five Falls: Entrance,
Corkscrew, Crack-In-the-Rock, Jawbone, and Sock-Em Dog. Recommended for guests with
previous rafting experience, Section IV can be the ultimate challenge for whitewater
paddlers. On Section IV trips there is a skilled guide in each raft.
