Puerto Maldonado tours

Jungle tour Monkey Island and Apu Victor Lake. 3 days.

Day 1: Monkey Island. After arrival at Puerto Maldonado, Peru's capital of bio diversity, you will start the program with a city tour on our " Ecological Bus". Thereafter we will take a boat from the port along the Madre de Dios River until we reach the Amazonian Lodge. A delicious typical welcome drink will be offered to you and we will accommodate you in the bungalows. After lunch, we will visit the Monkey Island in the heart of the Madre de Dios River at only five minutes from the lodge, led by a specialized guide. All along this itinerary you will enjoy the marvelous landscapes with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. You will appreciate a great diversity of monkeys such as the "Maquisapa", "Martin", "Little lions", "Frailes", "Achuñis", Ronsocos", as well as a rich variety of birds. You will be impressed by such a wonderful environment and it will generate a life lasting experience. To complete our tour of the island you will be able to enjoy the sunset, one of the most impressive phenomena of the forest.

Day 2: Apu Victor Lake. You will be awakened by the beautiful song of birds. After breakfast we will start our itinerary with a walk through the depths of the forest along specially adapted pathways with bridges to cross the marshes. During our walk we will explore the Alligator's Cave. Further on we will reach the fabulous Apu Victor Lake with its transparent waters surrounded by wide marshes and big trees. Afterwards, from our Amazonian Viewing Point we will enjoy the view of the lake and observe the parrots, guacamayos, toucans, "camungos", "shanshos", herons, as well as turtles, and alligators. Then if we are lucky we might be able to see one of the most fabulous animals of the jungle : the giant otter. Thereafter we will return to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will take you for a tour along the river to see the sunset. We also will visit a native indian family. Return. Dinner.

Day 3: Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.

Day 2: Lost Cocha.After breakfast, you will start your guided adventure through the depths of the virgin forest until we reach the Lost Cocha. This place is the shelter and food source for a great variety of animals such as otters, alligators, turtles, sachavacas, birds with coloured feathers, the majestic jaguar and a great variety of fishes. This place belongs to the Ecoamazonia Reserve and it is exceptional because it still has virgin marshes. We will get to the extraordinary Amazonian Viewing Point, built on the top of a Shihuahuaco tree, the most luxuriant and largest of the zone. From this place you will appreciate the magical jungle. Then we will take a pleasant crossing by canoe on the lake. Thereafter we will return to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will take you for a tour along the river to see the sunset. We also will visit a native indian family. Return. Dinner.

Day 3: Briolo Gamitana River. After breakfast, we will take another fascinating excursion along the river Madre de Dios until we reach the starting point of our walk towards the Briolo Gaminata River. This river rises from the heart of the virgin forest. Its amazing winding movements forms wide navigable channels which we will explore by canoe. You will appreciate the close ups from animals such as turtles, alligators, butterflies, birds etc. Arrival at the lodge. Dinner.
