Pucallpa Peru tours
Pucallpa city/area tour. 1 day.
A visit to downtown Pucallpa and a ride to Yarinacocha Lake and San Francisco
village. San Francisco is an authentic village of the shipibo
tribe. You will be able to see the natives making their potteryand
cotton tapestries by hand. Lake Yarinacocha is surrounded by
a wild natural landscape. Its length is approximately 20 kilometers.
You will also visit the beautiful Parc Natural, where you can
see all kinds of animals from the jungle and the Escuela de
Pintura USKO AYAR .
Contamana tour. 2 days.
Day 1:
We go downstream toward the province of Contamana In a covered-boat.
This trip gives you the opportunity to observe the immensity
of the rainforest and the diversity of the wildlife. If you
are lucky you will see reptiles, birds and wild animals swimming
in the river and wandering around on the riverbanks of the Ucayali
River. After arriving in Contamana you will take a stroll through
the town. You will visit the Maquia hot water springs, where
you can take a bath. Back in Contaman, you will take a motor
cart to go to the camp site of the "Collpa" Macaw
lick, camping for the night in a open hut in the middle of the
jungle.
Day 2:
You have to wake-up very early in the morning to observe quietly the
Macaws feeding themselves on the clay with minerals (sulphur),
supplementing their diet of seeds and fruits. You need a lot
of patience and silence in the hide-out to not disturb the Macaws
as they are eating from the clay. After this fascinating experience,
you return to Contamana and go upstream by boat on the Ucayali
River. You arrive at Pucallpillo Port in Pucallpa around 18:00p.m.
Jungletour. 3 days.
Day 1:
We pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 for transfer to the port: Puerto Callao de Yarinacocha. A motorized canoe takes us over the lake to the Rio Ucayali
watershed. We follow the river till arriving to the small village Tacshitea, where we spend our first night.
Day 2:
We continue by boat on the Ucayali
river and visit the villages Patria Nueva and Saposoa. We take some hikes to observe birds, delphins and monkeys. We spend the night in village Calleria.
Day 3:
We start the return trip on the Shauya channel. Along the way we visit the San Francisco native community of the Shipibo indians. We can observe their handycrafts and way of life. We will return at Puerto Callao.
