Only Platinum Elite members are eligible for Guaranteed Confirmed Reservations in World Business Class.

+ Upgrade Terms and Conditions
Elite Upgrades are subject to availability and are valid only on Northwest and Continental flights within the 48 contiguous United States and to Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Select Continental Micronesia flights are also included. Continental flights to/from Central and South America with a BusinessFirst cabin, and all Continental Micronesia flights with a BusinessFirst cabin, are not eligible for Elite upgrades. Northwest and Continental automatically process Elite upgrades, so there is no need to call. To ensure your Elite upgrade is processed correctly, verify that the name on the reservation matches all official documentation, your WorldPerks account and any nwa.com profiles that have been created. If the name differs, a name mismatch may occur and disqualify an upgrade.

Platinum and Gold Elite members may upgrade one companion from any paid fare at the airport only within two hours of departure on a Northwest- or Continental-operated flight. No advance confirmation is available.

Members using the Platinum Elite Confirmed Companion Upgrade will be able to upgrade one companion booked within the same reservation at the same time the Platinum Elite upgrade is processed. Upgrades will be processed through the automated upgrade process and are subject to availability. If you have purchased a full fare, the upgrade for both the Platinum Elite and companion will be processed at time of ticketing. Your upgrade will not be processed automatically if you have more than one companion booked within the same reservation. This benefit for Platinum Elites is valid on Northwest-operated flights only. Platinum Elite Companion Upgrades are permitted in the same travel region as the WorldPerks Elite Upgrades.
