The Investment

The first thing you should know is what kind of investment is involved. The Writer's Market, which is the standard among many professional writers, says that the average rate for a professionally written manuscript is $37,000. This is because the process can take many months of time, and you are covering a professional salary for that period. Writers who haven't been at it for so long do charge less than this, and your top writers charge up to $100,000.

The investment in my service is less, however, and includes more than simply a manuscript, as provided by most ghostwriters.

I take you from the very beginning until your book is in printed form. This can mean help with landing an agent and publisher or with self-publishing. It can mean putting together a proposal for your book. This service even covers all costs of travel if requested.

And of course I offer my publication guarantee so that you will end up with a book in hand at the end. In other words, this service is the only one I know of in the world that guarantees a return on your investment, and still I only charge $22,500 to $30,000 for books of 50 to 100,000 words. (That covers just about any book out there.)

I charge this all-inclusive rate because I don't like the idea of just handing someone a manuscript -- most peopel won't know what to do with it; they may not realize that they still need cover letters, proposals, and more. It doesn't do their initial investment justice.

I want to see my clients succeed, so I make sure that everything is covered in my service. if this is the kind of investment you're interested to make, then I look forward to providing you more than any other ghostwriter in the world.

If you already have an agent or publisher, or know that you can get one, I can provide you with the manuscript only. In this case, you can take $3000 off the price of my service, again making this a real bargain among professional ghostwriters!


PLEASE NOTE: I do not work "on spec." This means that I won't write for free or for discounts in hopes of making money when you sell your book. I do, however, offer finder's fees if you refer other clients my way, and this can help to cover the cost of your book.


Discussing Your Questions and Goals

If you're comfortable with the investment in this service, then it's time for us to discuss what you're trying to accomplish, how quickly you'd like things to be done, and what questions you have, etc. The following details on the ghostwriting service should answer most of your early questions. Once you've read through, we'll talk about your publishing goals, marketing issues, and anythiing else we can think of.

At this time, we'll also talk about your timeline for the book. Because of demand for this service, I am generally scheduled some months in advance. If you need to start right away or finish within a short time period, we can talk about whether that's an option; if it's not, I have other writers I can refer you to. Normally, I can work with you on a sample right away and then, if you want to hire me as your ghostwriter, I can get you onto my schedule for a start date within a couple of months. I then guarantee to finish your book usually within 8 months of that start date, though it will typically be finished much sooner.



Confidentiality / Non-Competition with a Custom Sample

Once you're comfortable knowing just what you can expect from this service and you'd like to start working together, I begin by signing a confidentiality and non-competition agreement. This guarantees that I will never mention our work together and that I will never take your ideas to pursue other projects, either for myself or for other clients. The only time anyone will ever know of our work together is if YOU mention it or if YOU opt to have me known as your writer. (This option will be spelled out in the contract, which comes after the sample.)

We then start pulling together at least enough information for me to produce a custom sample. You are under no obligation at this time. This is simply a way for us to gauge how well we work together and whether I will be worth the money you invest into this service. Details are included on the next page about how I get the needed information from you.


PLEASE NOTE: The option for travel is not included for samples unless you wish to cover this cost. If you do, that cost will go towards the ghostwriting service if you hire me.
