The President and Provost
Stanford is led by John
Hennessy, Stanford's 10th president, and Provost John
Etchemendy.
University Governance
In addition to the president and provost, university governance
at Stanford includes several bodies: the Board
of Trustees, the Faculty Senate,
a cabinet of deans and other
academic officers, senior
administrators and department
chairs.

University Policies
A number of university-wide
policy documents provide the details of official Stanford policies. The Administrative
Guide is the official manual for administrative policies.
Academic Units
Three of Stanford's seven schools offer undergraduate and
graduate programs: Earth Sciences, Engineering
and Humanities and Sciences.
The other four schools offer graduate programs: Business,
Education, Law
and Medicine.

both alphabetically and by
school. In addition, a number of interdisciplinary
programs cross the boundaries between departments and disciplines.
