Huntington Beach Events

Huntington Beach events run the gamut from world-class athletic competitions like the US Open of Surfing and the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament to free summer concerts at Pier Plaza, the annual Surf Film Festival, weekly Farmers’ Markets, swap meets at Golden West College and monthly Bolsa Chica wetlands tours. The most popular also include such unique Orange County events as the National Professional Paintball League World Series, Concourse d’Elegance Car Show, Offshore Grand Prix, Civil War Reenactment and the Pacific Shoreline Marathon.

Of special interest to children are annual Huntington Beach events like the Huck Finn Fishing Derby, a chance for kids to don their best costumes and bring their fishing poles to compete for prizes including the "largest fish" and "best dressed" Huck Finn or Becky Thatcher. The whole family will enjoy such unusual Huntington Beach events as the popular Dachshund races, normally held on the fourth Sunday of the month in Old World Village.

The holiday spirit is always alive and well in free-spirited Surf City USA™ locales. For hardy celebrants, annual Huntington Beach events like the Polar Plunge and Huntington Beach Pier Paddle are a great way to start the year off right with a plunge or a paddle in the Pacific Ocean. Come mid-year, you won’t be able to help feeling patriotic at the Independence Day Parade, considered the largest west of the Mississippi and one of the Huntington Beach events that’s earned the city its reputation as a hip, healthy and happening place for fun.

"The events I look forward to most are the Pro Surfing Championships because they're so cool. Standing out on the Pier you can look right down on the surfers, see the waves develop and become part of the ride."
