Common questions and answers A
|
Why can't I take CalMax with dairy or caffeine beverages? - Caffeine, as well as alcohol, can hinder the absorption of calcium and magnesium. By mixing CalMax with a dairy beverage, such as milk, the chemical reaction that makes CalMax so effective is neutralized. |

Why doesn't CalMax contain vitamin D? - CalMax is a special blend of calcium, magnesium and vitamin C, formulated to create a specific chemical reaction; that's why it fizzes. The formula works to maximize the amount of calcium and magnesium absorbed by the blood stream. While vitamin D is necessary for the absorption of calcium, it is not necessary to create this chemical reaction and is therefore not included in the formula. Also, vitamin D is fat-soluble, stored in the body and widely available in dairy products, fish and oysters. Plus, vitamin D is manufactured after exposure to sunlight, hence its nickname, "the sunshine vitamin". Just 10 to 15 minutes of sun exposure, 3 times weekly, is adequate to meet the body's requirement for vitamin D. In most cases, vitamin D is present when calcium and magnesium are absorbed. I heard that calcium causes kidney stones; is this true? - Yes, improperly digested calcium particles can build up in the blood stream and eventually in the kidneys, where they can calcify. This is not a problem with CalMax because the calcium is completely dissolved before it is consumed, so particles do not build up in the blood stream. After taking CalMax I develop diarrhea; what do I do? - As every person is different physically, digestion will vary slightly. If you experience diarrhea that you believe is associated with taking CalMax, try taking CalMax with food or taking only half a teaspoon at a time.
