real-world example. Suppose you want to measure the bite types of a random selection of lemon sharks and you're testing to see how long each muscle fires

"Is My Data Normally Distributed, and If Not, What Now?"
If you've predesigned your experiment and you know what test to run, SigmaStat automatically checks your data against the underlying assumptions for normality, equal variance, multicollinearity and
outlying and influential points! SigmaStat warns you of violations and calculates a more appropriate test when necessary. With SigmaStat, subtle data interactions are identified that
you might otherwise miss. For our shark example, let's select and run a one-way repeated measures ANOVA. SigmaStat checks for normal distribution
for nonnormal data it suggests the Friedman ANOVA on ranks instead. If your data are normally distributed and there is a significant difference between
groups, a multiple comparison dialogue automatically appears, complete with the recommended tests to run. SigmaStat then runs the test you select. If
your data require a nonparametric test, a different set of tests is available.
"Don't Throw Out That Test Tube!"
Typically, experiments end up with incomplete data due to missing treatment cycles, unequal sample sizes, or equipment breakages. Unlike other statistical programs, SigmaStat's sophisticated general
linear model automatically handles missing and unbalanced data - so you don't have to throw out any of your research. In our example, SigmaStat applied the general linear model to the missing values
and since differences were found, proceeded with multiple comparison testing - automatically.
