The first few holes tend to lead you into a false sense
of security, but do not be put of with this rather soft introduction,
the test is soon to come. Rock Roquemore, the famous course designer has
laid out some very testing holes. The 4th keeps you guessing right up
to your approach to the green, watch out for the right club selection
this approach is very deceptive. To finish the first nine you have a very
tricky par 3, with what looks like an island green for a safe approach
keep to the right which takes out the water. The second nine are just
as difficult, with the eleventh a long par 5 make sure you get a good
drive off to make the second more easier. With the eleventh it is essential
to get your second central to the narrow fairway, as this green is well
protected by water and a very steep grass bank. The old seventh is now
the sixteenth, a spectacular hole set along the cliff tops, from the tee
you look across two large rocky ravines. The safe route in is on the right,
from the tee the natural tendency is to pull your shot right so do not
be put of, play your normal shot.
