How much is shipping?
Shipping costs depend on the products purchased. Additional charges apply for express delivery and delivery to locations outside the continental United States.

Is express delivery available?
From the time we take your order, it is usually shipped within 24 hours and may take up to 10 business days for normal delivery. If you’re in a super hurry, UPS 3rd Day, 2nd Day and Next Day Air is available at additional cost - please email us at customerservice@areyouprepared.com for rates. Please include your complete street address, as UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes.

What about returns and non-delivered orders?
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with any product you have ordered, simply contact us at customerservice@areyouprepared.com within 30 days of receipt of your order. We will be happy to send you a replacement, exchange the item or give you a prompt and courteous refund or credit, which ever you prefer, less only shipping & handling costs. All returns must have a Return Authorization Number. Carefully repack the item with all instructions and documentation in its original container and mail it back Prepaid UPS or insured US mail. We will refund shipping costs on items we determine to be defective or for shipping errors on our part. Should a package be refused or returned to us unopened, the customer shall be charged a restocking fee of 15% of the order amount and/or pay shipping cost to reship out the order.

How do you handle backorders and substitutions?
We strive for a 100% in stock inventory, but occasionally we may temporarily be out of an item. If an item in a food unit is out of stock, we will substitute with another item of equal or great value when possible. Backorders will be shipped within the time noted on your invoice.

Orders to AK, HI, PR, APO, FPO
For orders being shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, PR, APO, FPO, or any foreign destination, please email us at sales@areyouprepared.com to request shipping cost information.

What are the payment/shipping options for international orders?
We ship worldwide, except Canada; note that all orders must be in U.S. funds. Additional shipping charges may apply for international orders. Please contact us before ordering to verify shipping costs. Certified bank drafts or money orders must be encoded with U.S. bank routing numbers. Personal checks from non-US banks are not accepted; credit cards not accepted for international orders. All international orders will be shipped via DHL or UPS; customers are responsible for all applicable duties or customs charges. We do not ship to Canada at this time.

What if I place a large order?
Most orders over 800 lbs. are shipped by freight carrier. Please be aware that someone must be present to sign for delivery and that carriers are only required to provide delivery to the tailgate of their trucks (i.e., you’re responsible for moving the shipment). If you need assistance, please plan to have help available at delivery.

What if items are damaged?
Every effort has been made to insure that your order will arrive safely, but always check your shipment thoroughly upon receipt for any damage. Any visual carton damage or breakage observed must be noted on the delivery receipt as “Damaged Packages(s)” before signing – and all claims must be made directly with the carrier. For freight truck deliveries, request an “exception number” from the carrier, prior to their departure. We will make sure all damaged articles are replaced in an expedient manner. Failure to make a claim within 24 hours of receipt with carrier will result in denial off claim
