A good bra is like a good man:
Supportive, good-looking & will never let you down!
Did you know that 70% of women in the UK are wearing the wrong size bra?
We all know that the most important feature of any bra is the fit, and yet many women go through life wearing the wrong back size, cup size, or both.
A poor-fitting bra will not give sufficient support, and this can lead to back, neck or shoulder pain, especially for women with a larger bust. Use our guide to measure yourself properly before purchasing a bra.
The measurements must be made against the skin as opposed to over clothing:
Step 1. To find your band size (32, 34, 36 etc.), measure directly under the bust and straight across the back. Hold the tape measure firmly. Add 2 inches to an even number and 3 inches to an odd number. This is your band size.
Step 2. To find out your bust measurement which will determine your cup size, measure the fullest part of the bust in inches. This must be a looser measurement to step 1. In fact the tape measure should almost slip off to get the best results.
Step 3. Subtract your band size (step 1) from the second measurement (step 2). The difference determines your cup size - please refer to the bra sizing guide.

Here are some tips to consider when trying on your bra to achieve maximum comfort.
1. When putting on your bra, lean forward as if touching your toes. This gets the underwire in the right place and the breast properly in the bra.
2. The bra should be fastened on the middle bra hook.
3. The bra seam should sit over the nipple.
4. The bra should fit as snug/close as possible. This will stop the bra from riding up your back and support the weight of the bust. The bra back should sit slightly lower than the front.
5. Always make sure that the centre front insert of the bra is sitting flat against the breast bone.
6. Ensure the underwire sits well away from the soft breast tissue and onto the ribcage. If this is not happening it means you need to increase the bra cup size.
7. The bra strap adjuster should be set at 5cms. This will vary depending on your body shape. The bra strap must sit firmly but not tight. You must not put too much pressure on the shoulders!
8. Check your side view in the mirror; if your bust is flowing over the bra cup then you need to go up a cup size.
9. Please note that demi and ¼ cup bras are designed to support the bust and expose some or the entire nipple. Should you prefer less exposure you should try a full cup.
10. Please be aware that your bra size may fluctuate slightly throughout your menstrual cycle.
