Luxury yacht Magic Captain: Mac MacDonald

"It is now my 14th year in yachting. I started my career delivering yachts for local brokerage houses in Ft. Lauderdale, gaining the respect of the industry as a solid performer and an extremely safe Captain. I was also teaching PADI diving on the local reefs off Ft. Lauderdale. I really enjoy spear-fishing and catching lobsters. I bring on board a degree of professionalism that is envied by many, matched by few, and followed by the crew that have the privilege of working with. I genuinely enjoy yachting and all that it has to offer. My theory for yachting is that my crew and I are here to provide an experience of a lifetime for the guests through the finest and safest service any vessel can offer whilst exploring interesting locales and regions."

'Chef: Betsy MacDonald

"After obtaining my degree in Banking & Finance, I graduated from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. I am a Certified Chef, USCG 100T Master, and PADI certified diver. Captain Mac and I have been a successful charter team for 13 years. This experience is reflected in my ability to customize menus to suit my guest's every need and desire. I am proficient in a wide variety of menus including New American, Mediterranean, and Spa Cuisine. I love to bake (and the crew enjoys that!) I was recently featured in two leading charter publications and was commended for my excellence in the industry. My cookies are known throughout the shipyards of Europe, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the east coast of the US. They have often contributed to the vessel being on time for project completion."

First Officer: Adam Crooks

"I was born the youngest of 3 boys in December of 1977 in Auckland, New Zealand. I grew up in the coastal town of Devonport and participated in various sports including Judo, sailing, rugby and snowboarding. All of my family members are sports achievers. This must have rubbed off as I gained national success in sailing. After high school, I was destined for Architecture College, however not before seeing Europe with my friends. In Britain, I heard that a job was available on a 255 expedition yacht. Knowing nothing about yachting, I applied for the position and spent the next 6 years circumnavigating the globe. In my spare time, I like to wakeboard and waterski. My architectural degree has developed into a love for drawing. I am enjoying the choices I have made and am looking forward to what the future may bring."

Bosun: Dave Finlay

"My name is Dave though my parents call me David. I was born in Fremantle, Western Australia in 1973. At 18, I set off for my first adventure to work and travel in Europe. Ten years later, after surfing and snowboarding around North, Central and South America, South Africa, Indonesia, and the South Pacific, I found myself in Antibes, France. I soon secured daywork and quickly picked up numerous skills involving all aspects of interior and exterior maintenance of yachts. My varied work background, including everything from gold mining to restaurant service and management, taught me versatility and attention to detail. These important characteristics made me realize that yachting was for me! I secured a position as deckhand, and then later as 1st Mate, on CV-9, a 130 Delta. We cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida, and New England. Later, I went to work with Captain Mac & Betsy as 1st Mate aboard Camille and we became a dynamic team. After a year, Mac & Betsy were offered the job on Magic and I went with them. I feel honored to have joined them and the new crew and look forward to many happy cruising days ahead."

3rd Stewardess: Rachel Whitehead

"Born and raised in scenic upstate New York, I lived and worked on the west coast and in Europe before joining the yachting industry in mid-2003. Previously, I worked in the service industry for over 5 years, managing a restaurant in New York I also worked as a nanny in Seattle while completing my degree in Spanish. I then spent a year in southern Spain gaining fluency in the language and falling in love with Andalucian food and culture. My first yachting job was as deckhand aboard Lady M II, a 145 Palmer-Johnson. I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities, yoga, travel, and fine food and drink."
