Graeme Brown. Luxury Motor Yacht Captain. New Zealander. Aged 31.
Captain Graeme has twelve years experience in the marine industry ranging from tourist vessels carrying 600 passengers daily to 80 metre luxury super yachts. In the eight years of super yachting he has travelled extensively through the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, Caribbean, Central America, South Pacific, North Sea, Canada and the better-known areas of the USA. Graeme’s last command was MY Odalisque, a classic Feadship which he ran for 3 years. Other yachts he has worked on are; Simson S, Izanami and Free Spirit to name but a few. His early years were spent on the family farm, growing up amongst the rugged and secluded terrain of the south island of New Zealand. He is also ‘sporty’ being a tennis coach, water ski instructor and avid diver. His past times include hiking, house renovations, reading and eating! With his knowledge and experience Graeme aims to provide an enjoyable and friendly time onboard Sarita Si.Kirsty Smith. Luxury Yacht First Officer. English. Aged 36
Kirsty (an ex-accountant) left the Salisbury Plains of Southern England over 10 years ago to embark on a 10 month ‘round the world trip’. Having travelled extensively worldwide and diving in many remote locations, she spent 5 years on the islands of Phi Phi and Phuket, Thailand working as a diving instructor. She also used her marketing degree to promote this area to the yacht industry back in 1997. Having been on yachts now for over 7 years, and working as a first officer for over 5 on such yachts as Odalisque, Endless Summer, Gitana, Colombaio Star and Pelagian, Kirsty has attained a full captain’s license and all safety training certificates.Mark Burley. Mark is from North Queensland. He was involved in the Marine Industry for a number of years before joining the luxury yachting industry. Mark brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the yacht and her services. Even though Mark is available 24 hours a day to deal with engineering issues, he is always keen to assist with deck activities and water sports. Mark has completed all safety training.Michael Donnollan. Luxury Yacht Chef. Australian. Aged 33
Michael comes to Sarita Si with more than 15 years chef experience, bringing together exotic and traditional flavours from years of cooking and travels from around the world. Michael loves the variety of food from different countries although his specialities are Mediterranean, Italian, Asian and Japanese cooking styles. Great care is taken to find the freshest seasonal and where appropriate, local food, to make your stay a gastronomic experience you will never forget. Michael speaks a little Greek and a little Italian. He has completed all safety training.Astrid Weinbauer. Luxury Yacht Chief Stewardess. Australian. Aged 33
This is Astrid’s second year in the luxury yachting industry. Astrid has a strong background in hospitality where she was Restaurant Manager of an award wining Gold Plate Winery in Western Australia. Prior to this Astrid worked for the Australian International airline Ansett. Astrid is a very bubbly, enthusiastic and professional stewardess providing you with service to the highest standards. She has completed all safety training.Mike Wood. Bosun. New Zealander. Aged 38
Mike is a kiwi bringing 5 years experience in the Mediterranean with him. He has captained smaller luxury motor yachts for the past two years.Before arriving in Europe Mike was involved in the hospitality industry and farming.
Mike is reasonably fluent French and has completed all safety training.
Alastair Smal. Deckhand. South African. Aged 24
Alastair has been working in the luxury yachting industry for 2 years, prior to which he was a fibre glass boat builder and, as a Yacht master, a delivery captain for sailing yachts in South Africa. Alastair is a fun loving and friendly character who will make your stay as enjoyable as possible. He speaks Afrikaans and English and has completed all safety training.Linda Smith. Stewardess. South African. Aged 24
Linda joined the yachting industry in 2003. Prior to that Linda had been in South Africa working in the Cape Peninsula National Park having earned a degree in Nature Conservation at Port Elizabeth University. Linda has experience in childcare and has previously looked after and organised activities for children of various ages onboard yachts. Linda speaks Afrikaans and English and has completed all safety training.Emma Forsberg. Stewardess. Swedish. Aged 21
Emma joined the luxury yachting industry in 2004. Prior to that, she worked part time in Sweden as a waitress and teacher of mentally handicapped children. Emma is an active person who likes sports, such as gymnastics, sailing and diving. She has travelled around the world and enjoys meeting new people, seeing new places and experiencing new cultures.
