With one of the state’s greatest diurnal (day to night) temperature swings and a extended growing season, conditions in different parts of Paso Robles Wine Country mimic those of some of the greatest wine regions in the world. What kind of wine does Paso Robles produce?
Because of the variety of grapes grown here, Paso Robles Wine Country is able to produce more than 40 varieties of wine, including signature Paso Robles Blends. Both Bordeaux-style and Rhone-style blends are made throughout the region. These Paso Robles Blends are recognized for their distinct, different characteristics and are often innovative mixtures drawing from the array of varietals available.

Where can I buy Paso Robles wine?
Most Paso Robles wineries have distribution around the country, and many have international distribution, and can be found in restaurants, grocery and wine merchants. For winemaker dinners you should probably reserve from the winery as soon as you become aware of an event.

What is the best time of year to visit?
Any time is a good time for a Paso Robles Wine Country getaway. Tasting rooms are open year round and fairly moderate weather means layers are always appropriate.

The PRWCA does not sell wine directly, but we recommend you visit our winery partners and associate members who have wine clubs and wine shops. Many wineries also offer direct sales through internet and phone orders.

How far in advance should I make room reservations for a visit to Paso Robles Wine Country?
While accommodations are expanding in Paso Robles Wine Country, we recommend that you make reservations for busy weekends (Zinfandel Festival, Wine Festival, Harvest Wine Tour) a minimum of two months in advance. During the rest of the year, you should be able to find accommodations 3-5 days in advance. If you prefer to stay in a bed and breakfast, consider that these rooms are limited, and that you should probably reserve earlier to guarantee your dates.
