V&E; Launches Revised Resource on Government Anti-Terrorism Initiatives

Vinson & Elkins has launched a revised website to assist clients and friends of the firm in obtaining information with respect to Government Anti-Terrorism Initiatives following the events of September 11, 2001. Those who rely on this resource for access to information regarding the initiatives will want to create a new bookmark to the V&E; Task Force on Government Anti-Terrorism Initiatives website.

The revised site, which has been reorganized for easier navigation, is intended to serve as a portal and provides direct links to the websites of certain government entities—including the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. State Department, the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the European Union and the United Nations—as well as access to particular major federal statutes that have been enacted as part of Government Anti-Terrorism Initiatives.

In addition, the new site offers direct links to the text of relevant documents, organized by categories, which have been published in the Federal Register by the U.S. Government since September 11, 2001.  These include Presidential proclamations and other determinations, Executive Orders, agency regulations and other Government directives.  Links to other materials that have not been published in the Federal Register, but which relate to Anti-Terrorism Initiatives, are also included on the site (e.g., certain Homeland Security Presidential Directives).

The site is not intended to provide an exhaustive listing of Government Anti-Terrorism measures. In determining action to be taken, visitors to this website should seek the advice of their legal counsel.
