Overview Vinson & Elkins LLP has a diverse, worldwide project development and finance practice, with particular depth of experience in power generation and other energy-related projects. Our project development and finance lawyers have participated in a broad array of power and non-power projects throughout the world, including projects involving refineries, petrochemical plants, oil, natural gas and products pipelines, LNG and LPG facilities, telecommunications, roads, water systems, and other infrastructure. We have represented developers, lenders (governmental and private), governments, and advisors and have worked on numerous RFPs, privatizations, and greenfield projects.
We participate regularly on behalf of a wide range of project developers and suppliers in all phases of the development process, from initial project contract preparation and negotiation through siting and permitting, financing, construction, and operation. Our lawyers are intimately familiar with the issues involved in the myriad of contracts necessary for a successful project, including EPC, output sales, fuel and other input purchases, operation and maintenance, site acquisition, and government support.
We have extensive experience in representing lenders and borrowers in domestic and international financings. These financings include multi-currency and foreign currency facilities and financings secured by stock and assets of foreign subsidiaries of domestic and foreign parent companies.
Vinson & Elkins can bring broad experience in energy project development and financings. Selected examples include: - Extensive involvement in the development and financing of electric power plants, pipelines, and other energy and petrochemical projects around the world;
