Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Classic Seuss)
by Authors:
Dr. Seuss
Hardcover Description:
Inspirational yet honest, and always rhythmically rollicking, Oh, the Places You'll Go! is a perfect sendoff for children, 1 to 100, entering any new phase of their lives. Kindergartners, graduate students, newlyweds, newly employeds--all will glean shiny pearls of wisdom about the big, bountiful future. The incomparable Dr. Seuss rejoices in the potential everyone has to fulfill their wildest dreams: "You'll be on your way up! / You'll be seeing great sights! / You'll join the high fliers / who soar to high heights." At the same time, he won't delude the starry-eyed upstart about the pitfalls of life: "You can get all hung up / in a prickle-ly perch. / And your gang will fly on. / You'll be left in a Lurch."
But fear not! Dr. Seuss, with his inimitable illustrations and exhilarating rhymes, is convinced ("98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed") that success is imminent. As long as you remember "to be dexterous and deft. And NEVER mix up your right foot with your left," things should work out. (All ages) --Emilie Coulter

Popular classic for good reason
I've been told this is a popular gift for graduating seniors from high school and college, as well as children. Makes perfect sense to me. At any age we can identify with wanting to move mountains, and Dr. Seuss tries to give the child in all of us words of inspiration. We can also identify with getting caught in a slump, and Lord knows, 'unslumping' oneself is not easily done! A popular classic that will remain part of our libraries because of its timeless words of wisdom...

Perfect for the Graduate
This book is right up there with all of Dr. Seuss' books! It's perfect for the high school or college graduate, although it will appeal to youngsters as well. Every time we have a graduate in the family or among my friends, I purchase this book and tuck a gift of cash (money order) inside. Every time, the young person who receives it has found the money, so I KNOW they are reading past the front few pages! I recommend "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"
