The Time Traveler's Wife (Harvest Book)
by Authors:
Audrey Niffenegger
Paperback
This bestselling first novel tells the story of the unusual marriage of Clare and Henry. Henry has an embarrassing medical condition that makes him disappear into time in an instant, leaving behind an empty pile of clothes. On some days he makes multiple appearances, at different stages of his life. And while the first time he and Clare meet in the present both are in their twenties, she has known him since she was a small child, when he used to pop back from their shared future. Her life's one constant is to be waiting for Henry.
Is there something a bit icky about the idea of romance springing from this first encounter, when she is aged six and Henry, a naked but paternal 36-year-old, materializes in the field where she plays?
And the quantum physics are a headache, but perhaps one shouldn't worry about that: it is a perfectly entertaining, if overlong, read.

book never arrived Time Travelers Wife
It sounded like a great book, but I never recieved the book. I am in New Orleans and mail service is not reliable at this time, so UPS or FEDEX is a better choice.
Outstanding
I'm a tough critic of fiction, yet I loved this book. It kept me awake through a long transatlantic plane trip, which may not have been a good thing, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
dreams and love in true life
This book is great for anyone who has ever truly loved. Can you not picture yourself with your partner prior to meeting them? Have you not wondered what it would be like to put yourself into various stages of their life? I can't beleive so much attention has been spent on discussing explicit sexual content in the reviews of this book; a few pages (out of well over 500) deal with making love, or having sex (depending on the scene) but the events and words are real and true and simply show that sex and/or intimacy can come from strength or weakness or fear or love. I think Niffenegger was more responsible than she needed to be in this context (after all nothing happened with anyone in the book prior to their ADULT consent). If you dream of yourself or others at different times, if you can see past, present and future and how they interplay together, simultaneously and not, in time, you will love this book.
