Christ the Lord : Out of Egypt
by Authors:
Anne Rice
Hardcover
Average Customer Rating:
I liked it - as fiction
I'm a Christian, so am a bit uncomfortable with the first-POV, but read in the context of fiction, I liked it. Detailed and interesting descriptions of everyday life in the beginning of the first century, but not tedious. The internal conflict of Jesus as he struggles to understand why he feels and thinks the way he does is believable. Glad I bought and read it.
Dull in an atypical Anne Rice way...
I was really excited to see this book (I buy everything Anne Rice writes while it's still in hardcover - I'm a die-hard fan). This book was SUCH a disappointment to me. I had to force myself to read it through. The only "positive" thing was it gave some historical context through "personal experience" pov, but really, my feeling after having read this book was simply, "Well, I read it..." Almost as bad as "The Violin".
EXCELLENT BOOK!
This book is great! Lots of research by the author shows! It is one of my Anne Rice favorites!
