The 4-star Hotel Astoria in the heart of Budapest, built on the site of the medieval town walls, is one of the most charming old-style hotels of Hungary's capital. As the slogan of the hotel goes, Astoria offers "Tradition and style..." with its last turn-of-the-century atmosphere.

Hotel Astoria was opened in 1914, its name given by the owners and Mihály Gellér, the first General Manager of the hotel, who formerly worked for the world-famous Waldorf Astoria in New York, and was an acknowledged expert in hospitality at thet time.

During the 90-year past of Astoria, the hotel was reconstructed and modernised several times but its unique grace was carefully restored. The Empire-style interior decoration, the marble cover and fancy carpets, the crystal chandeliers, glittering mirrors and stained-glass windows, the marvellous works of art invite the guests for a romantic journey back in time. Film producers and directors often take the advantage of the excellent facilities of the hotel, which provides perfect scenery for film shooting.
 

Due to the hotel's excellent services and ideal location in the heart of the historical city centre, within walking distance from the administrative, business and cultural districts and the famous shopping areas of Váci Street, the hotel is very popular among foreigners and citizens as well. After an exhausting day spent with sightseeing or shopping it is good to sit back and relax, have a delicious dinner or a fine coffee in Restaurant Empire or Astoria Café Mirror evoking the ambiance of "la belle époque".

The hotel's fine dining room, the richly ornamented Restaurant Empire awaits the guests with the specialities of the Hungarian and international cuisines, and dinners by candle-light with live piano music in the evenings in an elegant last-turn-of-the-century atmosphere. We offer our Astoria Menu completed with a quick and attentive service for businessmen.
Open: 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m., 12.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., 6.30 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.

Astoria Café Mirror
We offer excellent coffees, delicious cakes, famous patisserie specialities, ice cream cup fantasies, a wide range of fruit juices and drinks in a traditional old style Café that received also many celebrities during its 90 years.

Astoria Drink Bar
In the Astoria Drink Bar next to the restaurant, Hungarian and international drinks, cocktails, special mixed drinks are served.
