It's a simple leather "envelope" on the outside with a letter-sized exterior pocket. Inside it's a cleverly arranged portable office, complete with an 8 1/2 x 11 ivory pad, reversible for right or left handed use, gussetted interior compartment, removable (Velcro attached) CD ROM case with outside pocket (holds 4 CD ROM's), gussetted diskette pouch and 3 pen holders. Size: 10 3/4 x 13 1/2 x 1 1/2. Please note whether this is for a left-hander or right hander when ordering. If nothing is specified, this will be debossed for a right-hander.

Genuine Leather (as indicated by the GL at the end of the item #) is usually the stronger leather and originates from the top of the animal hide where the fibers are tighter. It is durable, supple, and more water repellant. Often it is buffed or sanded to reduce natural blemishes. Genuine leather has a slight shine to its appearance. Florentine Napa leather (as indicated by an FN at the end of the item #) is a softer leather since it has been exposed to more buffing which gives it a soft, natural feel. The fibers are looser than in the genuine leather and the process it undergoes to get its softness may make it weaker. It can be polished easily to maintain its softness.



All leather goes through a dye process to mask its faults and add color so leather can fade when exposed to sunlight. The less dye added to a leather piece, the less fading will occur. In choosing whether to purchase a GL or FN type of leather in this line, individual preferences, the use of the item, and budget usually dictate the choice.
