DELISCO
Delisco, crowned E! Entertainment Television’s “The Entertainer,” by Wayne Newton, debuts his special engagement at the Shimmer Cabaret beginning September 20.
“The Entertainer” was a ten-episode series that chronicled Wayne Newton's nationwide search for the next Las Vegas headliner. Thousands auditioned, ten made it to Las Vegas, but only one was crowned "The Entertainer" and given a spot in Wayne Newton's live Las Vegas show at the Las Vegas Hilton. Newton also is producing Delisco’s headlining show at the Hilton and other Resorts International Destination properties.
With musical influences ranging from Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Bob Marley, and Ray Charles, Delisco's exciting new sound is destined to attract audiences from all generations. His sound combines elements of rhythm, blues, gospel, rock, reggae, and ragtime in a unique and innovative sound that has wowed audiences throughout the country.
A veteran of stage, television, and Broadway, Delisco's powerful five-octave soul/rock countertenor vocal range has gained buzz among audiences and critics alike. Formerly a principal in the Broadway hit Aida, Delisco also starred on Broadway in 1997 in Smokey Joe's Cafe in the role of James, and he was featured in the hit musical Ragtime in 1998. Veteran songwriter, Jim Steinman, who collaborated with the likes of Meatloaf and Celine Dion, once described Delisco as an R&B; coloratura.
