Document and Data ManagementIt is a common problem for product teams to have project documents kept on individual personal computers or spread around in different folders. Multiple copies and versions may exist. Even when other team members have access to the needed document, it is not clear whether they have the correct version or the master. PD-Trak™ solves this problem by providing a common repository for each product team's documents via the Project File. 
The Project File provides access to three types of documents:
Standard project document templates can be based on the templates provided by PD-Trak™ or developed by the customer. Project documents can easily be added and added to the Project File with PD-Trak's linker function making it easy to create and maintain this repository. Categories of documents can be maintained, sorted and accessed through worksheets as shown below. The PD-Trak™ linker also makes it easy to add and link these documents. 
PD-Trak™ complements product data management systems that manage the configuration of technical documents and drawings by providing an equivalent capability to manage project documents, plans, and analysis. When a product data management system is not used, PD-Trak™ even provides a capability to manage technical documents through its bill of materials (BOM) function. The BOM can maintain a link to drawings and specifications and maintain the version and date of the last revision for each of these items.
